when he told me to keep my mouth shut and not display political or religous signs or symbols or bumper stickers. It might be legally permissible speech but there will always be somebody who will take offense. And that could result in job loss or other hardhip. As a liberal living in red state hell I have to say that was pretty good advice which has served me well.
