Dean: "This is -- this is choice. This is real choice."
Edited on Sun Aug-09-09 06:01 PM by ProSense
DEAN: Second of all, what the speaker didn't tell you is, let's just suppose you get forced out of your employer-based system, which I think is unlikely, but let's suppose that you do. You've got a choice. The government will pay your subsidy to either go into -- based on your income, either to go into the public option or a private option. Nobody is forcing you in to the public option.

Now, a third thing is that nobody talks about is this bill is terrific for small business, and the Blue Dogs made it a better bill, and I hope (inaudible) gets through, it gets even better.

Right now in the House bill, if you have a payroll, if you're a small business with a payroll of less than $500,000, you have no responsibility whatsoever to give your employees health insurance. That now becomes a subsidy based on your income, and then you can choose either a private or a public sector.

STEPHANOPOULOS: That's...

DEAN: This is -- this is choice. This is real choice.

STEPHANOPOULOS: That's in the House bills, but the Senate has made it pretty clear they're not going to include this public health insurance option, at least as contemplated in the House bill. The most they're going to get is co-ops...

(CROSSTALK)

DEAN: No, actually, the Senate Finance -- this has already passed four out of the five committees. The Senate Finance Committee has said that, not the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Well, but you need 60 votes to get it through.

DEAN: We need 51 votes.

1. I'm kind of glad Dean is doing this from outside the administration.
You can tell its where his passion lies and he is more believable in this role.

4. Likely not invited or rather Dis-invited.
I mean look at Meet the Freep on NBC is hosted by dances with roves..
I would not believe anything from David Gregory he said it was daytime and it was 11 am.
I did not get to watch any of them on Sunday I had something better to do. Sleep in!

Yes I do care, I am a medicare/medicaid patient. We need medicare for all, that way when the occasional opportunity comes along for me to make a few dollars I could do so without losing either my income or my insurance since my meds alone cost about 4 x what my income is, at that my income is not enough to pay my bills so every month something is left un-paid and I cannot go out and hold a job due to my health, that would make me a danger to others if I were to have a seizure while dealing with a high voltage powerline or in my original career as an air traffic controller during the runnyraygun era , and ya'all know how that bastard treated us.

I had to be homeless and completely destitute before I could get any help, by that time I had been homeless for almost 2 years, and my HIV viral load was off the charts and my t cell count was 14, normal non hiv tcell count is between 700 and 1400. I was also having Grand Mal seizures on a daily basis, pneumonia and not long after was diagnosed with colon cancer. My normal weight is about 170, I went down to 120. I spent 9 months on IV medication for CMV which would not likely had been a problem had I been able to get care earlier and I would not be in the shape I am in where I can't do a job with any regularity.

These rpig idiots scream about socialism then claim they are Christians what a F ing joke.
Social contract is caring for your neighbor, helping out, a hand up not a hand out.

Remember Jesus said love thy neighbor?

Then screamin like a spoiled brat when you don't get your way when the insurance for profit whores goad you with lies is supposed to be acting like an adult?

Would your really rather have folks like me die in the streets rather than at least ACT like a Christian and extend a helping hand or just kick me off the sidewalk..oh yea that happened to me.
With the way these oldsters scream about socialism, yet take Medicare and Social Security which by the way F heads IS SOCIALISM, I am now ashamed of you and I am embarrassed to be American. You people have really showed your collective nazi asses.

To clear things up a little , Medicare does not choose what Dr I can see, Drs are opting out of Medicare because the can't get paid due to R cuts.
Medicare and Social Security would not have any trouble meeting all of the requirements of pay outs if Congress would not STEAL from the trust funds which by the way happened when the Rs were in charge.
If we were not fighting to unlawful wars of terror how many trillion would we not be on the hook for? Why could not Osama been found by the so called infallible CIA? Why are we payin for their services if they can't do the job?
Why are we still paying for Blackwater aka XE to murder innocents and pimp out little girls when both are patently against what we are supposed to be standing for?
Why are we spending 664 BILLION for DoD when it is a multiple of what every other nation in the world are spending combined.
But you idiots got to bitch about someone or everyone getting health care.
I guess its really much easier to be angry than educated.
FOOLS! Learn to think for yourselves, but then again, that would be to hard.
I am damned sick of whining f ing bully rpigs. And if you think I have not said all or most of this to my own R family members you really are in mental dislocation.
