REPORTER MUST ASK BUSH: If Dems cut off war money, will you leave troops in Iraq until last bullet?
I think there is a good chance Democrats are just worried if they cut off funding they will be blamed for "losing" the Iraq War for a couple of decades just as they are blamed for Vietnam.

But a worse scenario is he will leave the troops there until they are out of water, food, and bullets, let them be killed, then blame the Democrats.

He essentially implied a threat to the troops when he said something that made no sense the other day: if Democrats delay the money, troops will have to go sooner and stay longer in Iraq. How could they do that without funding? Likely what he meant was either

  1. The troops are going to stay no matter what.

  2. He has the power to do what he likes with the troops and they will suffer if he is not catered to.

Someone needs to call his "support the troops" bluff.

7. "nuts"??? (cough sputter gasp)
My associates and I are deeply offended to be, in any way, associated with the psychopath in the Offal Orifice.

This has been a public service message from the Association of Fruits & Nuts, Unlimited.

:silly:

Bush, Cheney and all the sycophants they surround themselves with are psychopaths. They don't give a flying fuck about the welfare of our troops - just ask the ones at Walter Reed.

We all know damned well that if we simply defunded, without some more sticks to swing at the President, he would not use his remaining funds to bring them home. He'd leave them there until their equipment broke down, they ran out of bullets, food, water, medical supplies, and started dying. Then he'd blame the Democrats for letting our troops die. He is that evil. Rove would be egging him on while he did it, so he can score more political points and use the situation to come up with yet more swiftboat smears. They'd all be crying crocodile tears as our troops got torn apart.

We've got to impeach the sons-of-bitches. They don't belong in the White House, they belong in prison.

5. I think he implied in a speech last week.
That he would take money from units in the states to pay for the war. Delay training, delay buying new equipment, probably turn out the lights on US bases to keep the Iraqi bases functioning.

8. another question
what is YOUR responsibility to protect the troops, Mr President?

1) You didn't assure they had adequate training
2) You didn't assure they have adequate equipment
3) You didn't assure they have adequate health care and rehabilitation
4) You didn't assure they had critical mental health care
5) You didn't assure they had safe food and water
6) You didn't assure their mission was necessary for the safety of the USA

What is YOUR responsibility, Mr President?

16. and I hadn't thought of that! and just like Hitler, the generals will quietly begin to ignore his
orders--and Hitler was a lot smarter than Bush. It probably wouldn't be too hard to end the war without telling him as long as someone went in and told him it was still going well while he's taking his nightly bath.

17. Look at Crawford as Bavaria, and the basement of the WH as the
bunker and the picture is complete...:D

He won't go to his place in the "TX Alps", so he'll stay in DC, demanding that forces that don't exist go to the Battle of the Surge.

Instead of "Wolfsden", we can call Camp David, "Pigsty"...

15. The Dems are giving Bush all the money he wants for the war..
It's Bush who is unwilling to accept the money. Thus, isn't he the one not supporting the troops?
