Update on my daughter's dental debacle...

For all of you who expressed concern, offered help,advise or just good vibes, I wanted to let you know she had surgery yesterday afternoon and is well on her way to healing. She's eating her first solid food as I am typing this. Thank you all for everything!!!!:grouphug: :loveya:

Wanted to add... We went to Afdent in Fort Wayne Indiana. These people are FANTASTIC!!! I can't say enough good things about them. They were very professional, very kind, nice friendly, sympathetic people. They are/were very willing to work with us. Why can't all businesses be like this? And as far as we can tell they did a great job.

You may be able to deduct what you paid for your daughter's care the same as you can your own dental bills. I know years ago my parents helped pay for some of my sister's cancer treatments and my shoulder surgery when we could not pay everything and they could use the deductions. They had to write the checks directly to the doctors and health care facilities - if they wrote checks to us, it counted as gifts and was not deductible

The laws may have changed, but it is worth checking on.
