"dominant corporate media" instead of 'main stream media' (M$M)
I was at a forum yesterday where one of the speakers referred to the media not with the conventional MSM but with his own term 'dominant corporate media.'
He explained that to his mind MSM didn't capture the the reality. MSM doesn't get to who is truly behind the misinformation and lies. To him 'dominant corporate media' really gets to the crux of who is running the media and why it is so distorted. This phrase also points out that there is good media - that not in the corporate structure. He included NPR in the DCM group.

I like his phrasing and will begin using it.

1. Per Chomsky I always used to refer to it as "agenda-setting, mainline media"
Which morphed into mainstream media, later abbreviated to MSM, which I on my own than switch to M$M (although I'm sure plenty of others had the same idea)

We need to get the phrase to four syllables or less, though...

5. I completely agree. M$M no longer accurately describes the control of and bias of
the American media machine. There is nothing "main stream" about the American media machine. It is corporate-owned and controlled, and primarily serves the plutocracy, the uber-wealthy, the upper 5% of the population. All information is filtered and manipulated to minimize accurate, truthful dissemination of anything deemed adverse to the monied class and their instrument of our subjugation, the American corporate state. Main stream media, my ass.
