If the Town Hall meetings were scaled down a bit,

meaning fewer people in attendance, and held in private residences or backyards, the disrupting morans would be trespassing, right? Wouldn't law enforcement have to move them along, if the property owner requested?

I've been kicking around the idea of offering my home up to my local Congressman.

4. I was thinking just my general area...

There are about 50 homes in my neighborhood. Many folks living here are retirement age, or getting close. With the few I have spoken to, all agree something must be done, but they have a lot of questions.

If I move some furniture out, I could probably fit 40-50 people in my family room. I also have a large backyard, that could easily accommodate 200+, but I doubt if that many would show up.

but in order to avoid the 'undesirables,' you should make the announcement 'exclusive' to the area, I think. It should NOT be interpreted as open to the general public.

If I do this, I will probably go door to door and invite them personally. Maybe have a flyer to give them. I'll talk with a few this weekend, and see if there is enough interest.

Invite only. I don't think that will work as a replacement for "town hall meetings".
I think you could keep undesirables away using private homes, but you would be cutting off access for to anyone "not on the list".
If you advertise a "public" meeting, held in a private home and you deny entrance to "some" people....I think you might create a political problem.
