If Obama has actually managed to turn the economy around
as has been reported in the news today shouldn't he be getting big accolades for a nearly impossible feat? I didn't think anyone could do it and it appears he may have.

I for one am extremely impressed and very happy with my vote for him. I think many good things are headed our way. Go Obama!

1. I don't want to jump the gun....
It's still to early to tell if we are starting out of this thing, and even if we are, the mess left behind for Democrats to clean up is massive. The effects of Chimpy will be with us for a long time.

3. Well if it turns out the recession hasn't
ended they will go back to blaming Obama, no problem.

2. Where in the hell did you get that
idea. The economy turnaround was from the tiny little mustard seeds GWB planted back in October last year. According to Larry Kudlow Bernanke, Paulson and GWB are the "Hero's of the Recovery". Actually I think McCain saved the economy when he suspended his campaign last fall, but noooo John doesn't get credit for anything.:puke:

4. GOP won't give him credit for *anything* good.
Bet on that.

I'm with you in appreciation for what he's been able to accomplish so far, which is really quite impressive when analyzed.

8. Nor will the MSM. But maybe the good news will drive them all
insane and they can be committed to an institution that their healthcare won't pay for.

5. First of all we don't really know if the economy is turning around, but lets say it is
for arguments sake, and lets say by the end of 2010 people are back to work. I have no doubt that the republicans and most of the MSM would not give him credit, but say it would have recovered anyway

Remember, how they blamed Bill Clinton for 9/11, ignoring the fact that it happened on bush's watch, ignoring the fact that Bill Clinton presented the bush administration with the Hart/Rudman report, telling them of the risk from AQ, and airports that needed more security

You are right, and I would hope that most Americans would see it in that perspective, but I would be very surprised if the MSM would give him any credit for it

7. Today I've Heard Both Lines From Repugs.....
that it is on the road to recovery because of the action BushCo took before they left office and another RW talking head said - it would have recovered anyway.

I'm still worried and still won't put any money back into the stock market and mutual funds. I have my IRA money in cash accounts and it will stay that way until someone puts some regulation into that industry. I don't trust anything that is said by Wall Street or any person or company associated with it. Greed still rules.

Also - if you listen to Thom Hartman - he and Ravi still are skittish on the recovery. They are thinking that this will be a W type recovery and we are in the middle of the W now going up - but before the end of the year that we will still be in the middle of the W - but going down first before we complete the W.

I'm hoping that they are wrong. But I'm also hoping that ObamaCo plays this good news close to the vest and doesn't get overly optimistic.

9. I think it has just begun to turn around - will take a long time to
get people back to work. I am CERTAIN the GOP will take credit for any improvement, and will blamd Obama for making things worse. Be interesting to see how many believe them.

You know the media will still find fault with him, too.

10. The real economy has been on an escalator to hell since 1980
Clinton slowed it up some, and Obama may very well do the same. However, you CANNOT sustain an economy consisting of 70% consumer spending when consumers as a group have been getting steadily poorer for 30 years with no end in sight, even now. There are no bubble options left.

The only real turnaround will result from investment in infrastructure and the technologies that will be required for the next energy economy. Not seeing much of that, but Obama still has quite a bit of time. However, he can't do it alone.
