Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Over the past few months the Bush administration has been building up a PR war. It seems that the Iraq war debacle isn't enough failure and destruction for George and his buddies in the White House. Now they want to go to war with Iran too. Turn on the news any day of the week and you'll see one of three things: Anna Nicole Smith's baby's daddy, Imus's insults against a basketball team, or you'll see stories about why we should invade Iran. The media supported the Iraq war and they'll do it again with Iran. Just today there have been stories about Iran "training Iraqi bomb makers." Their source? U.S. military spokesman - because they have proven they are so very trustworthy.

Almost 3,300 American troops have died in the Iraq war and many more have been wounded. Estimates put the Iraqi death toll at 655,000. The Iraq war has our military tied down and our troops tired and weary. Troops are being sent over to Iraq numerous times without the proper armor or training they need to survive in a war. Not to mention that the war in Afghanistan, which seems to have been forgotten, has taken a turn for the worse. In a nutshell - the American military cannot take on another war, especially with Iran.

Regardless of numours public denials by the Bush administration, the United States already has made advanced preparations for an air strike against Iran. Many neo-conservatives have been urging the administration to start a new front against Iran in contrast to the state department, the Pentagon, and a bipartisan majority of congress. It has been said that the President has not made any premature decisions about Iran, but we heard that before the Iraq war too. Now after the Downing Street Memo and other reports we know that the Iraq war had been planned out for quite some time. Bush has already declared Iran to be part of the "Axis of Evil" and the PR campaign in the media has been continuing to build up.

The Bush administration has likely already made up their mind about Iran and with almost two more years in office Bush can still do even more damage to our country. We must not get fooled again. It is up to us the stop the next war now. Contact your Representatives and Senators and insist we prevent another disasterious war. Contact media outlets and tell them to stop helping the administration start a new war. Don't site around waiting for another war to happen. We were fooled into the Iraq war - will we allow ourselves to be fooled again? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

2. One sure way to stop Iran from helping Iraqi "insurgents"
is for US troops to leave. The US is on both sides of Iran. I'm sure they want us to go.

4. I actually was not fooled about Iraq. I knew from day 1 that it
was the chimp wanting to get Saddam for Saddam trying to have Poppy knocked off.

But I understand your point, and it's a good one.

10. I don't understand why Bush has so many aircraft carrier groups in the Mideast now.
It seems totally irresponsible to me for Bush to put almost our entire fleet in one area.

It's almost as if Bush is inviting someone to attack our ships.
The last time so many aircraft carriers were in the same area at the same time was at Pearl Harbor in December '41.

11. It is my hope that the 2006 election averted WWIII.
If the Repubs still controlled congress, there's little doubt in my mind that there'd be another war on by now.
