Rumsfeld's only mistake was being too soft and not putting the left in the isolation camps they deserve for their traitorous behavior.

:eyes:

This is my response:

"Oh, and it's very telling that you think his "only mistake" is not throwing those who dissent with him into camps. His mistake was fucking mismanaging and LOSING THE WAR!!!"

:grr:

4. As much as I loathe the right-wingers and their views...
....I would *never* advocate throwing them into camps for disagreeing with a Democratic administration/ That's what separates us from the fascists.

5. I agree 100%
The most I have ever asked them to do is to think rationally about their beliefs, and maybe try to see the inconsistencies. Hell, I enjoy a good discussion with a right winger or even other progressives who hold differing beliefs than I do; it sharpens my own argument, and I even try to see their side of things.

Heck, I have changed my mind about an issue or two after debate and much consideration. Sure there are some things that I would never change my mind on, but I at least try to respect others' right to disagree. This doesn't mean we have to be quiet and take it, as we have the same right to disagree with them.

It's like religion. I want a stronger separation of church and state, not because I want to abolish or criminalize religion, but for the exact opposite. I want everyone, regardless of their belief or lack thereof, to be a welcome member of society. I just wish the other side could be as open minded about things.

I hate the "love it or leave it" crap, and usually tell people who say it that I try to make positive changes because I do love my country so much.
