And he needs to arm himself with facts as best he can.

And he needs to go on Fox, including Hannity, Beck, and O'Reilly.

Or the gig is up. Simple as that.

2. does anyone really need more town halls? we elected them to do the Progressive things they promised
end the warS
give us healthcare
equal rights for all regardless of sexual orientation

It's ok, they can go and do these things without constantly needing to check back in with us and as for petitions and pats on the back. They can have town halls when they get all these things done (LIKE THEY PROMISED) to find out what we'd have them do next FOR US.

6. Yes they can
But as much as progressives like to think they won the presidency for him, sad fact is, we only got that way because the soft, mushy, and yes stupid middle joined in, and this mushy middle knows they can cancel the vioctory at any time, as the Blue Dogs show quite well. He, and frankly, a lot of the left, need to go the al gores and michael moores and say "how do we make joe sixpack understand so he won;t go GOP again!"

3. He is.
The presdient can't do town halls every day. There are two wars going on, and there's that whole stubborn busness of running the country every day too.

He's going to be in Montana next week.

8. I know they have been all theater, but the invented swell is turning
into an actual tsunami. Obama, I'm afraid, is the only one who can save it. But he needs to act soon.

And if Obama is on Fox, people will see someone answer his stupid questions with intelligence and dignity.

(Hope I'm wrong, but . . .)

9. No - he needs to abandon bi-partisanship.
He can't afford to ignore history. Medicare was passed without one single republican vote. Today, no elected official in their right mind would dream of really trying to kill Medicare - even that dumb fuck George Bush learned that one in the end. Medicare is here to stay.

Its time to circle the wagons - demand the Blue Dogs allegiance - and pass robust reform including a public option with 50 votes in the Senate and the VP casting the tie breaker.

10. But there will be a month of sucker punching. The blue dogs will turn yellow,
and the gig will be lost (or so watered down it would be a hollow victory).

Whatever, Obama can only turn the public around by getting out there.

(Things are looking very grim. Again, hope I'm wrong.)
