Did Oily Taint have an arranged marriage to get a green card?
Edited on Thu Aug-06-09 01:09 PM by yellowcanine
"She said she was raised in Kishinev (or Chisinau, now the capital of Moldova), but was granted permission in 1981 to leave and join an uncle who had moved to Israel; once there, she learned Hebrew and earned a degree in dentistry from Hebrew University. Her chance to get to America—a place her father had always told her was full of opportunities to reap the rewards of hard work—came in 1987, when one of her mother’s fellow schoolteachers offered to set her up with a software engineer named Yosef Taitz who was visiting from California; on their second date, she said, he proposed, and she accepted. (They got married in Las Vegas.)"

The fact that she is still with him doesn't mean it was not originally a set up - fraudulent marriage in order to get a green card.

I want to see the VAULT COPY of the marriage certificate!

On edit: If she accepted his proposal on the second date, does it stand to reason that she slept with him on her first date?

1. Unfortunately, arranged marriages are not fraudulent.
I will say, though, I find the story amusing. And not in a "Aww, isn't that adorable," kind of way!

3. Something doesn't smell right
Maybe the fact that she was in Israel made things easier for her, but Immigration will usually rake an applicant over the coals and I find it hard to believe that getting engaged after the 2nd date was ok with INS. Of course, this happened some time ago.

4. No-questions-asked policy for Israelis, for the most part.
Same with lots of other white folks from "friendly" countries.

5. They raked my wife's niece over the coals in the Philippines
She came with every kind of proof possible and they still rejected her.

6. She's a FURNNER, why is the GOP listening to her in the first place?
I thought those patriotic flag-wavin' Murkans who belong to the GOP didn't like taking orders from FURNNERS with funny accents?

Is she here legally? Does she pay taxes? One wonders ...
