My sister and her family have NO health insurance...

I tried talking reasonably with her and explained it's all optional. I even offered to send her more information about what's being offered in the current bills and she said no. She didn't want it.

She prefers to remain ignorant.

She is going to be one of those who learn the hard way. If she were my sister, I know I would have to bit my tongue not to say, "I told you so" when it happens. It is so sad how some people always have to learn the hard way.

Medicare and love it. But she is terrified of 'socialized medicine' and claims she would rather have nothing at all.

All the current plans being considered by Congress will force her to buy the worst insurance available at a cost between 1.5% and 12% of her gross income. If she doesn't buy the insurance, she will be a criminal. She has all right to be frightened. I am.

As much as we hate our health insurance provider, we just can't allow our kids to be without.
