CNN) -- The man who shot three women dead in a Pennsylvania gym before killing himself this week posted at least two videos on YouTube last year, apparently referring to a desire for a girlfriend in both.

George Sodini, 48, gave a tour of his house in one clip, his camera briefly panning across a book called "Date Young Women" in his living room.

"The couch and chairs, they match. The woman will really be impressed," he says just before showing the book.

In the note left at the scene in Sodini's gym bag, Moffatt said, he complains that he had never spent a weekend with a woman, never vacationed with a woman and never lived with a woman, and that he had had limited sexual experiences.

I don't know if you have ever read about them or seen their websites. It's all about techniques for guys to get women to sleep with them.

What I find sick and weirdly amusing is that rather than give advice on conversation skills, finding appropriate matches, arranging enjoyable dates, etc. the whole scene is about basically tricking girls into wanting to sleep with you. There is a whole NLP sub-movement where guys try to do Jedi mind tricks to subliminally manipulate women into wanting them. The unstated premise of the whole movement is that the guy is such a loser that no woman would sleep with him without literally being brainwashed into liking him.

What is more disturbing to me is the way in which women are presented as mindless prey and the men as hunters. This can't be good when you have a disturbed wacko like Sodini studying this stuff.

You have already selected a few CD's to play and have them ready. The lights are dimmed slightly. The wine is chilled. Pictures of your family are OK. Pictures of you with any previous girlfriends are not OK.

Answering machine dangers
Your home answering machine. Erase all messages from other women. Turn the volume down. When she is mating with you, she does not want to hear other women calling & saying "last night was great". Also on the home phone, erase your last called number. While you are in the shower, she may hit "redial" to see who answers. Before she comes over, call the weather service, any number at all, then the last number redial is safe. Your mobile - turn it off. It should have a PIN required to turn it back on. Else, she will go through your received calls. The more interested she is in you, the more she is likely to protect herself by doing these things.
Does this make you angry? It did for me at first. I do not go through other people's phone list, dialed calls, etc. But, women are different. They are programmed to snoop (it is not a sign of disrespect) so as to ensure there is no other competition for the man. It's genetic. They all do it. If you have a sister or a very good female friend, ask them. Almost all will admit to snooping, whether it's the cell phone, the answering machine, or for hair in the shower.

At times he seems to be narrating from a perspective in which he is actually talking to a woman, and at other times (far fewer) he speaks of a woman in the third person.

that he was very stunted emotionally. He refers to being bullied by his brother and neglected by his parents. If you internalize the anger and don't work through it, you end up with very twisted ideas about yourself, your place in the world, and your relationships with others. This guy seemed to think he was doomed to to be alone and then he proceeded to make that happen.

no one with even a shred of personality or creativity has ever lived there. And he was 48 years old. No photos, no pix, no goofy postcards from friends, no plants, nothing. It could be a badly decorated model home.

It would be instructive to find out why he never hired an escort or prostitute, or why he did not just buy a foreign bride. I suspect sexual abuse in his background. It would also be instructive to talk to anyone with whom he had a budding friendship just to see what they'd say about him.

And yet again, we have the specter of a middle-aged man fixated on "younger women" -- who, believe me, will not give this guy the time of day. He is far too immature and needy to ever appeal to many women, much less younger women. We are looking at a guy who is as absolutely featureless as the Gobi Desert. There is simply nothing there.
