4. How about blaming those who didn't vote for Al Gore or campaign for him?
Edited on Wed Aug-05-09 08:33 AM by stray cat

9. The press killed a lot of people's enthusiasm. Folks here actually believe the shit about
'Clinton fatigue', which was manufactured by the Republican Party and had NO basis in fact. I was in political polling at the time and in every 2000 survey, Bill Clinton would have beaten GWB or Al Gore and GWB and Al Gore. His approval rating was nearly 70% when he left office.

Yet, people here think he was run out of DC on a pike.

The so-called 'liberal' press of the NYT op-ed page and Matthews destroyed a lot of peoples' enthusiasm.

But I share your frustration in all the folks that didn't bother to turn out and vote in 2000 and 2004. Had more folks gotten off their asses and voted in 2004 thousands of lives would have been saved. But Kerry wasn't 'cool' enough.

14. Umm, Al Gore won the 2000 election
it was the supreme court who decided otherwise.

15. Liberals did not turn out as they should have and his own state did not vote for him.
Voters also failed him.

He deserved better.

21. Every liberal I know voted for him.
What he lost was the squishy middle, the easily persuaded with no convictions who fell for republican propaganda.

Jim Hightower's armidillos. Fucking blue dogs.

He may not have gotten the radical left, but the radical left throws their votes away every year so that doesn't change that demographic a whit. He did just fine with liberals.

19. I remember reading people cried when Clinton left office
Foreign leaders did not want to see him go.
As for the 2004 election, I worked at one of the polling places here in Lawrence, KS. We had a line from the time we opened at 7 am until about 6:45. Yeah, only one place, but I think there was voting shenanigans in Ohio and maybe elsewhere to get W his second term. Karl wanted to help his friend one-up his Daddy, country be damned.

17. No,No,No ...dont go there
Al gore won Florida and here is how I think it went...Exit polls showed Al Gore winning Florida and in fact one network actually called Florida for Gore (NBC I think) So GW gets on the phone with his brother and tells him .."Hey you guaranteed me Florida..Do something" so Jeb has thousands of votes destroyed..Walla..then the exit polls were no longer reported..
This was a corporate financed election theft..The same for 2004...an all out election theft. Why? so the banks, corporations could have their puppet to pull strings and dangle this idiot and get everything they wanted..And we now see where it got us.
So this was all a planned strategy and nothing, could have changed the outcome because this theft (appointment) was a last chance effort that was a calculated strategy..The only thing that could have totally changed this of course would have been Al Gore winning his home state, and even then we could have had two Florida's with hanging chads...
And then we have the tragedy on 9/11 which was what brought the idiot back from the depths of a free fall Presidency and began his strategic theme for the next 7 years.Sad day in this country and to think what might have been..Now until we have the fairness doctrine again the media will continue to promote the Republican themes.
So campaigning, donations, phone banks,etc..nothing could have changed the outcome..

Now as we watch and listen we see how the corporate media is promoting the Republican lies. Now, I dont watch these cable shows except for briefly scrolling through I've noticed how many networks are turning up the heat to get the Republican BS scripts on the airways. And folks..it is working because I talk to Democrats everyday and some are picking up on this BS because some are having doubts about Obama on some issues...

The only President in American History to be elected President who was denied to serve by the edict of the US Supreme Court.

12. Yup...
I've never been able to stop comparing Clinton and Gore to Dubya and Dickless.

Whatever Clinton was, or did, in private, he at least is dignified in public. Gore too...always dignified. Worthy of being called Statesmen.

Unlike Dubya, who was, is, and always will be, a disgrace to himself and his family. Not to mention to this country for eight LONG years....
