President Clinton and journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee head home - pics
Edited on Tue Aug-04-09 09:55 PM by Kadie

A U.S. official greets U.S. journalists Laura Ling (2nd L) and Euna Lee (R) as they head to a chartered plane at an airport in Pyongyang August 5, 2009 in this photo released by China's official Xinhua News Agency. North Korea said on Wednesday it had pardoned the two jailed American journalists after former U.S. President Clinton met the reclusive state's leader Kim Jong-il, a move some analysts said could pave the way to direct nuclear disarmament talks. 8. I saw him in person in 2006, came to my burg to campaign for my congressional candidate.
He was so impressive, well-spoken, charismatic and had such presence. I sure was impressed and my BF actually shook his hand. He was never going to wash it... :D :hi:

9. He looks terrific, quite a relief.
Saw him in person in 2006, when he came here to campaign for Kirsten Gillibrand for Congress, and he has incredible presence. It was SRO in my little burg, which is a very red district. People loved him. :D

14. I met him twice,
at White House functions.

I've met a bunch of famous people, and some are quite impressive, others are just as down-home as can be, but I've never seen anything like Bill Clinton.

There is a glow about him. He just radiates this thing that envelopes him and rolls out towards the people around him. It's hard to describe, but it's very real.

He's also bigger than I expected. Not just tall, but BIG. He's a very big man.

And he throbs. That's the only way I can say it - he throbs. The man is more charismatic and loaded with something than anything I've ever seen. He just has this incredible aura around him, and "throbbing" is the only word I can come up with. He's wildly sexual - not sexy, sexual. He isn't like any person I've ever met.

He has soft hands, warm hands. And when he's looking at you, you're just aware that you might be taking your last breaths on this earth, but it's all right.

The older he gets, the better-looking he gets, too. The silver/white hair really looks good on, especially with a dark suit...........

13. This was an amazing accomplishment!
I'm surprised it's not being discussed more on the news and web. Not just anyone could hop over to North Korea and bring people home!

17. Just checked how long it will take for a plane to fly from Seoul to LA: 12:45.
Edited on Wed Aug-05-09 05:54 AM by ColbertWatcher
I estimate they should be landing at approximately 9:30am PST (12:30pm EST) or there abouts.

(EDITED FOR CORRECTION)

19. The News Hour had clips of Laura Ling speaking after they landed at Burbank.
Very emotional. What a story. What a happy ending.

Thank goodness we have people who believe in diplomacy once more in charge in DC.
