Ben Nelson is threatening to stamp his little feet and hold his breath until he turns blue unless these awful people stop pointing out that he's a corporate lackey and an egomaniacal jackass --- thus proving that he is a corporate lackey, an egomaniacal jackass and a silly, silly man.

2. The beauty of making an example of somebody...

it motivates so many other people. Pays great dividends! If we succeed in making life miserable for Nelson -- who so richly deserves it anyway -- that won't be lost on the other corporate lackeys in Congress.

5. We need to focus on one or two of them and donate to organizations that will

oppose them (that is, support a progressive in the primary) in the next election. For example PDA or moveon.org.

6. By all rights, they should be far more afraid of us by now.

Then again, progress on getting rid of electronic voting is in gridlock so, at best, we'll have to muster an extra 15%-20% of the (D) voters just to become a threat to the (R), DLC and Blue Dog corporatists. The insulation they enjoy within the beltway needs to be investigated for it's R-value. Given the current temperature of the public, it's got to be way better than fiberglass, foam or triple pane glass - they have no idea how pissed off we are.
