Alaskan page that looked fake as hell and a report only from this page?.. And a CNN affiliate(supposedly).. I wonder if her camp needs the attention to stay alive in this game? I don't think the msm gives a shit as much as she says... And at this point i won't put anything out of the picture with a women (or whoever is batshit nuts to help her campaign) trying to keep eye's on her any way possible so she can keep media favor.. Regardless, today would have been a lot funnier if it was true they were divorcing,)

3. Wouldn't surprise me. When she finally runs out of fake scandals she'll do the Playboy spread.

15. You can't be serious.
There are two threads on the Palin divorce story here in GD, at last count one with over 300 responses and the other with over 200 responses. That's a lot of people who obviously care a lot about her. Maybe you could ask them why they keep up with the news about her.

16. At this point, she's about as relevant as Michael Jackson.
Would you like me to ask each one of those "hundreds" of DUers why they are so interested in her love life? Don't count on me doing so, because I'm not even interested in why they are so interested.

Welcome to DU.

19. You Can't Be Serious!
Clearly you didn't read those threads. The vast majority of the posts were derisive of a "what coems around. . ." nature.

People here don't care about her. They just care that she continues to be exposed for the idiotic hypocrite she is.

7. I would probably say so.
I have no idea why the media is so hungry for news about her, but I have the feeling that her people push a lot of these stories themselves. Something like this will probably be trotted out about once a month until she finally figures what she's doing.

17. Drudge only runs rumors about Democrats
Drudge waits until it is an indisputable fact before he runs scandal on Republicans.

Drudge is a willing enabler of the Republicans. Sarah Palin stories only appear when they are to the benefit of Sarah Palin

11. I would say anyone who doesn't want to talk about real issues is pushing these type of stories.
What do you think.

12. Gryphen at The Immoral Minority
who first blogged about this has been cultivating sources in Wasilla familiar with the Palins for months now. I doubt that this is coming out of the Palin camp.

He is usually very careful about his sourcing, and, frankly, I was surprised that he so confidently posted this story. In my opinion, there must be something to it.

14. interesting. I value your perspective. Thanks.
In a way this jives with Palin's personality and her family history.

Just after she got VP nod, reports surfaced that she spent little time "mothering" and that the grandmas had to pick up the slack. Thus, the kids got little discipline.

22. Yes, in fact, they are.
The Palinites are in a position to spend money that they are able to raise from the rabid right's contributions. It includes money being spent on a "perception managemenmt" program, to begin to rehabilitate her image in the media.

The Palin strategists have hired a firm that has studied the model of the Nixon '68 and Bush '04 campaigns. In the Nixon context, it has an example of how to turn a person that the media portrays as a "loser" into a contender. In the Bush '04 context, it is using the Rather example, by manipulating a "rumor" in a way that takes focus/attention away from the real issue -- Bush's failure to meet the standards of the National Guard -- and instead makes it so reporters "don't go there." Palin's family scandals are a weakness for someone who wants to be squeeky clean, and she wants them off-limits.
