And I didn't kill anyone. Aren't y'all proud of me? My shrink will be relieved and certainly my wife was.

Don't even get me started on the woman who loved Sarah Palin because she was "just like us and not some Harvard graduate or something."

19. I can't stand those family gatherings,
Our family reunion is next weekend and this will be um about the 26th years I have not attended.

They are a bunch of Southern Talibabtis, and I'm gay. The last one I went to was very uncomfortable to me.

My partner says " the main problem with Baptists is that when they go down to the river..they don't hold them down long enough".

All of them voted for Bush the first and the second time. I had told the lot of them in 1998 that if he ran, he would 'win' and we would be at war in Iraq or Iran with in 2 years, and our economy would be a shambles by the time he left office....
Now they say how did you know? and you were right.
Should have listened to me, instead of insulting me and telling me in 2004 that he would protect us.

I am not prescient , I had read the some documents related to PNAC manifesto in 97.

29. Funny how posts about killing, here, are humor
yet elsewhere is a warning sign that everyone missed before some wack job killed.....

So, say, if someone crossed posted a 'I didn't kill someone' post from a sight you politically disagreed with... you would think it was a knee slapper? "I was at Walmart, and some jackass was talking bad about Sister Sarah.. and it took all I had in me, and by the grace of gawd, I didn't cave his head in with a can of crisco." :eyes:

36. And actually sweetums you're right. I do need more sessions.
Because one of the reasons I'm in therapy is because I have the potential to be a "Whack job" through nothing more than loss of my temper. So I'm trying to fix that. I had to stop driving taxi because I realized the next bigot, homophobe or war cheerleader I met I was probably going to slit their throat and let them bleed out in my cab. Obviously this would have created more paperwork than I usually like filling out so I opted for mental health treatments.

41. Don't take it personal
it's just the accumulation of the recent build up of chatter advocating violence. I just see what could be coming down the pike, and it isn't pretty. And, you are right, 7 years (will take your word on the time, just know I have been here abouts for quite a while)is a long time, long enough to see how things have and are changing trends. I don't know, maybe that's the (un)official stance now, nod, nod, wink wink. It's all fun and games till someone does something stupid, then it's scrubbing old posts and pointing fingers at who didn't catch it.

Pssst, Do not post messages that advocate harm or death to anyone, threaten the livelihood of anyone, or otherwise harass anyone. I wish I had wrote that. :applause:

Mainly because most that have read me here are used to my acerbic tone. I joke like that because I too see the real potential for violence in the divisions of our country and I guess that's my way of "keeping up with the (psycho) Joneses".

The whole place must be haunted. I think George Jr. was permanently scarred while living in Midland by the death of his sister and his parents' refusal to acknowledge it. Young George was a haunted child, and a damaged adult.

I just need to remember that kicking his ass will do no good and, though I'm quite capable and I'd love it, it will be unpleasant for Mom. I have given my favorite neice permission to remind me in front of the others that I told her to keep me away from him.

54. I have a fairly high regard for well-educated individuals in general, but what I have
found from somewhat limited experience socializing with Ivy League grads with LOTS of money and IMPORTANT jobs is that they are very clubby and look out for their own kind--meaning the other rich folks with big degrees.

Some of them are very generous and vote Democratic, but many of them have no empathy for the working class. So, it's easy for me to see why the rank and file often find the Harvard grad tag to be a negative. It would be interesting to know how many of the DLC, DNC and RNC are Ivy Leaguers.

Shadowknows69, I commend you for your restraint. I face the same situation any time we have a gathering of my family. They know I'm the bleeding heart liberal, so they lay it on thick. I can usually give as good as I get, but on the way home I'm constantly thinking "Damn, I wish I'd thought to say this . . . or that, when they made some stupid statement."

Maybe you should practice a few good lines to have ready for the next one. Let me know if you come up with some.
