1. Wow, I was actually just thinking someone should do that -- didn't know that it would happen.
Edited on Thu Jul-30-09 06:40 PM by Bleacher Creature
I think this is a great move. If the Republicans want to push the "we don't want the government coming between me and my doctor" crap (notwithstanding them being okay with insurance companies filling that role), fine. Take it ALL away.

5. Yes... and in about 3 days
You'd have THE GREY REVOLUTION where the seniors of America storm the Capital building and beat Congress members with their canes and walkers.

7. They've been bitching about govt healthcare. Time to
put their money where their collective mouth is. If they don't vote to end Medicare, they lose a leg to stand on in the public option debate. This is great!

10. Can you imagine the commercials back home during the election
featuring a district's Republican Rep. voting against funding health care for the elderly?

I think this is great, and agree with Critters2 above.

Now Rep. Murphy is talking about problems with Medicare patients receiving intravenous drugs or wheelchairs.

11. The problem with Medicare is it takes an act of Congress to change it.
That does not need to be true if Congress would give HHR more authority to make rules.

Oh they are getting under his skin! Yes!

13. Vote Tally -- 0 Ayes, and 57 NOs.
Republicans apparently have no problem with Government Run Healthcare so what's the beef with the Public Option and why won't the Democrats go for Medicare for Everyone?

23. Yes, his district is pretty safe
Although has a PVI of only D+5, it's been more than 80 years since a Republican held that seat. Furthermore, the Republican Party in New York State is in bad shape. Weiner should cruise to a seventh term with no trouble.
