4. Yep. And one of them is mine.
What I want to know is how does a Blue Dog represent one of the poorest districts, ca18, in the state? These people are not friends of the poor and working people.

9. Hey redqueen!
They will be soon. I just moved back to my hometown for the specific purpose of taking some names and kicking some ass in organizing. The county party is my next step.

Good luck whipping them into shape. I can only dream of that cause my district is solid RED... ugh it's so depressing. :P

2. Melancon is the worst.
We need to get rid of him. When his time comes he has to go. Anyone would be better in his seat.

7. Exactly what I was thinking.
I spent some time on the phone today and I couldn't get it on the record form any of them that they were in favor of a public option for health care. They all wanted to "explore it", look at all options like exchanges and co-ops.

What a bunch of worthless crap. Why are these people Democrats and what are we going to do about it? That's what I want to know.

10. When I spoke to Melancon's office two days ago...
His staffer finally admitted (after babbling republican talk/speak) that Melancon was not in favor of any type of public option.

22. I plan on working my ass off during this "convenient"
break...

you know people are dying everyday and Max Baucus wants to get advice from the rethugs about the health plan....

they are going to wait to 2013 or 2015...we have to stop them and scream and yell at the top of our lungs....

these blue dogs (in these committees) do not represent proportionately the demographics of America...bunch of white guys..the Black Caucus is right...the system itself has racism built into it.

I want to work with people here to get them motivated to seal the deal for all Americans. We have to get out and tell the people that all the bullshit that is on tv are just scare tactics

26. They've goddamn well had enough time, already.
I think that for every single day that they delay, THEIR taxpayer-funded insurance, which covers virtually everything at very little cost to them, should be withheld. Yeah, though, like THAT'S ever gonna happen.

11. But, she's with them on other stuff? I am truly shocked.
Well, maybe not so much considering her district used to be represented by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Dornan#Controversial_statements">Dornan (and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Cox">Cox before redistricting)

20. Only way she could be elected in Orange County.
She's actually pretty moderate in a pragmatic way, but she's got to be able to appeal to the Mammon-worshiping Talibornagain crowd as well as Quick Cash Randriod crowd that litter her district as well as the regular workforce, which is pretty solidly semi-professional middle class first- to third- generation immigrants.
Orange County will not elect a truly moderate Dem for a long time. As for electing a liberal or progressive Dem - that will take generations. Or for the ocean to rise a couple meters due to Climate Change and get rid of all those high-priced ticky-tacky developments.

12. Are their votes of any use in any other issues besides health care? Are they all DINOs?
I know one of them (Altmire) who beat right-winger Melissa Hart, a hateful republican in W. PA.

He is considered a "centrist" and is called "independent". He gets a high score for voting for middle class issues. He is bound to go down in that score now, being against the Democratic health care proposal.

It would be tough to primary him because there doesn't seem to be any strong Democrats to challenge him.

13. One of those CA reps
was very helpful to my mom a couple of years ago. He was thorough and able to straighten out some finances for her. My mom lived in an area where it was difficult to know which one was her actual rep, but I can say that I shudder to think what the other potential rep--David Dreier--would have done for her: Dreier is the biggest walking dick in SoCal, and would never have had the decency to help.

25. Ah, yes, Stephanie whatshername, my very own personal state
Blue Dog. I've spoken with both of her state and D.C. office staff a few times regarding her position on health care and have gotten the brushoff each time; I've never even received the usual canned "thank you for contacting me regarding such and such very important issue, blahblahblah" response, I've gotten absolutely NOTHING. And there are tons of uninsured people and working families in this state who are really hurting, not to mention those with insurance but who are financially ruined due to a serious illness/injury. She couldn't care less as long as SHE gets HER taxpayer-paid, "socialized" insurance plan, courtesy of the very taxpayers getting screwed by insurance companies or who can't afford insurance.
