Itchmo Alert: Three other products test positive for melamine
NUTRA MAX CAT GOURMET CLASSICS: The following three 3-ounce varieties tested positive for melamine by UC Davis:

* Chicken Cacciatore, UPC 79105352055

* California Chicken Supreme, UPC 79105300117

* Lamb & Turkey Cutlets, UPC 79105300148

The test was privately requested by a California family that lost their cat.

So, now it's up to individual citizens to have their pet food tested to see if it's safe?!?!?!?!? It's a shame this country doesn't have some sort of FDA or something. :mad:

2. Kick!
Important information regarding Nutro not found anywhere else. My little boy, Moe has been eating it and now he suddenly lost his appetite yesterday. I am monitoring him closely . . .

8. Dry Nutro?
I keep hearing that the dry Nutro for cats and dogs is not affected, but there have been some iffy reports that suggest otherwise. All the best to your little guy - he's beautiful! You might consider switching to another brand anyway, since Nutro is a major Rethug donor. I know there are cat people in the Pets group who can make good suggestions on alternate brands that your boy might like.

6. Thanks IndyOp!
People have got to know that the FDA is pretty much bullshit and the corporations that make our pet foods really are looking out for $$themselves$$, not out furkids. Everyone needs to check the labels on wet and dry food for WHEAT GLUTEN. I honestly don't think some companies even know where some of their ingredients come from. This is such BULLSHIT!!!!!!!

9. It is very disturbing. But I agree - the FDA is worthless - maybe
worse than worthless because they just bend the truth to whatever they want it to be. You absolutely cannot trust any info coming out of that department.

Check for wheat gluten on the packages. Check for wheat.

I don't think I would feed any wet food to any animal unless you make it yourself. We don't have any idea what is involved here.
