And Hooray! for their former governor winning the Iquitarod in record time.

Seriously, Alaskans as a whole are much better off being able to put this fool behind them. I'm not from Alaska, but that's my opinion.

I think a lot of us forget that you have citizens who remember what it's like to not be a state. I know I do. Are there peculiarities in your state government that relate directly to recent statehood?

The "owner state" concept is unique to Alaska (the constitutional provision which is behind the Alaska Permanent Fund) as well as our very strongly worded privacy clause, which is the reason why we've had legal pot since 1975.
