9. Paid Vacation...What Would You Do?

The flea-brained attention span of the corporate media will make the Anus story old news by the end of this week. What I'll be interested in seeing is if MSNBC and CBS Radio fill the time with "best of" shows...meaning they're still making their money and Imus still gets paid as well (note they didn't say unpaid suspension). It's a wink and a nod...then watch the promotional build-up for his return...and the promotional campaign of "what will he say next".

Now if MSNBC or CBS Radio wants to really make ammends...they put on a Gwendolyn Brooks or Roland Martin or Tavis Smiley for the three hours as a substitute host.

11. just had a thought... perhaps the reason for the one-week delay

is that they are planning to play 'best of' shows - but it would take a week to find tapes or edit tapes to take out all the other overt or borderline racist and biggoted banter to put together two weeks of "trouble free" "best of tapes". Perhaps they would be better off following your advice per making ammends substitute hosts.

12. There's A Radiothon...

That's the excuse they're using. Thursday & Friday WFAN will raise several million on the air for various charities (including Imus' ranch) and Imus brings in a lot of the donors and interest. I think its bullshit, cause they can still have this telethon and Imus could be clearing brush rather than parading all his friends on the screen for the next couple days to tell us how Don's not such a "bad person".

Be assured they already have some tapes on hold as Imus has been known to "become ill" at the last moment and it wouldn't take much to whip up two weeks of repeats. If anything, it'd be cheaper for both CBS and MSNBC. And be assured, they'll still be asking top dollar morning drive rates.

that Imus does at his ranch - accordingly if Imus lost his show those kids would be hurt and they don't deserve that, so he should be let off the hook with not accountability. What you describe plays directly to that sentiment. Smart for them, I guess. But depressing to read.
