Beer for Peace!
Obama suggested the whole incident could be worked out over a drink. "There was discussion about he and I and Professor Gates having a beer here in the White House. We don't know if that is scheduled yet, but we may put that together."

Harvard prof Henry Louis Gates 'happy to oblige' Obama invite for beer with Sgt. James Crowley
"And if meeting Sgt. Crowley for a beer with the President will further that end, then I would be happy to oblige."

Crowley told his fellow officer that he joked with the president.
"Jimmy said, 'I'd be happy to come to the White House and sit down with you and Gates and have a beer,' " the veteran Cambridge officer said. "The president said he was acceptable to that."

What beer's on tap for Obama, Gates and Crowley?

4. Nope, we beer fans are proud to have one of our own in the WH again!
I have a picture I found on the Internet of candidate Obama with a sampler of brews from Bethlehem Brew Works, a favorite place for me to visit when I'm in PA.

I've always said that we could work out a goodly number of problems if we all sat down before a few pitchers of microbrew!

5. I am a beer girl my self and if I ever go to the east coast
I would definitely go there. He just does not strike me as a beer guy but I would much rather have a beer with him than Bush
(he seems like a mean drunk) I do believe that Kucinich would be the president you would want to smoke a bowl with :silly:

6. Good. Now about that grammar ...
That should have been, "There was discussion about him and me and Professor Gates having a beer here in the White House."

7. So, will this also work with the Arabs and Israelis?
It's an interesting social approach, to get people in the same room, hopefully without lawyers, but probably not so simple. To start with, Gates doesn't drink beer. Let's see if this meeting actually happens. If it works, let's try it next in the Middle East.
