Barbara Mikulski Has Broken Her Ankle
Got this from the Maryland Dems last night:

Senator Barb has broken her ankle but not her spirit!

The Maryland Democratic Party wishes her a speedy recovery and knows that it won't be long until she is back up and around - doing what she does best, standing up strongly and proudly for all Marylanders.

If you want to send her your greetings, we will be accepting them via e-mail and will present them to her soon.

Please email us at wellwishessenator@mddems.org with your kind words -- we know that she will appreciate hearing from you.

We also know that it will take a lot more than a broken ankle to keep her down!

3. Powerful Women. . .
does this include the pope. You know the one in the long dress.

4. If the Pope were, in actual fact, a woman, I suspect the Universal Church wouldn't
be hemorrhaging their membership like mad! They'd probably not have all these abuse issues, women would be priests, and cleric marriage would have been reinstated a long time ago. And that silly "fiction rule" they have about birth control...that would have been tossed as well!

6. My guess is she will have no problem getting medical attention
nor will she have problems with her insurance paying for her treatments.

Unlike some of the horror stories I've seen here on DU recently.

10. Thanks for the notice!
I'm from WA, so she's not my Senator. But my union has a training facility in Eastern Maryland, and she's been a good friend of that union, as well as the school. That's where I saw her on several occasions, and even got an opportunity to chat with her.

But FAR more to the point, she is a courageous and GOOD person. All others here who aren't from her state or have no other connection, study her record and consider emailing her. Here's her Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Mikulski

13. It may be for some people
Besides, they sent around an e-mail address to send you good wishes. I figured that was the most important thing that DU-ers would want to see. Sorry for wasting your valuable time. :sarcasm:
