12. Someone should have. It needed saying. And even though Obama did not call this officer stupid
as you very well know, it is obvious his actions were stupid, and were deservedly addressed thusly.

22. I wasn't there but I've seen cops do some stupid things.
I've seen cops who were stupid and cops that weren't stupid do stupid thing.

I thought not investigating asap a shooting was kind of strange.

But so far, with the Boston thing, I wasn't there and there seems to be some dispute as to whether what the cop did was stupid or not.

I wouldn't put it past cops to be stupid, but like I said I wasn't there.

i imagine if what the cop did was stupid, then he and the city may get sued and the evidence of stupidity will be presented and he may put up a defense and a jury will decide if he was stupid and just how stupid he was.

But I'm not the type of person to read a news account and jump to conclusions about the relative stupidity of someone. I usually wait for the trial and the evidence.

Now if the cop said that he acted stupidly, I wouldn't wait. But since it's in dispute, I try not to prejudge these things.

I could care less if you do or Obama does though, honestly.

Cheney was quoted:

"I shot a man in Corpus Christi, just to watch cops squirm ..."

I believe Whittington was against water torture, and just happened to express his legal feelings on the subject while Cheney was armed and drunk, so he had to be shot, don't you see?

20. An Offer that Cannot Be Refused...
Whatever police would have been involved in an investigation were probably shown pictures of a secret, undisclosed location, man-sized safes and Bush's "Al Qaeda-head" trophy. (Cheney probably has these pictures in his wallet next to his family.) Then the police were offered the chance to turn down a package deal that included being water-boarded up to 183 times in a month and some other assorted "enhanced-interrogation" techniques for good measure.

Fuck Cheney, Bush and all the idiots that support torture. Seriously, it is well beyond time to prosecute Bush, Cheney et al.

37. That says it all.
In Cheney's case, the cops knew who's boss.
In Gates' case, the cop wanted to make a point of it and wouldn't take "Not you" for an answer.
