Limbaugh: Obama has a ‘chip on his shoulder’ because he’s ‘black.’

In an interview with Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren last night, right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh said President Obama was more “passionate” during Wednesday night’s news conference about the arrest of his friend, Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates, than he was about health care. Limbaugh said the reason was clear: Obama is “black” and that as a result he’s “got a chip on his shoulder“:

LIMBAUGH: I think Obama is largely misunderstood by a lot of people. … We’re finding out that this guy’s got a chip on his shoulder. He’s angry at this country. He’s not proud of it. (…)

Let’s face it, President Obama’s black, and I think he’s got a chip on his shoulder. I think there are elements in this country he doesn’t like and he never has liked. And he’s using the power of the presidency to remake the country.

This is not the first time Limbaugh has characterized Obama as an angry black man. On his radio show in March, Limbaugh said Obama “has a chip on his shoulder, and his wife does too, and they are some angry people.” Limbaugh has also chastised people for being afraid to “criticize the little black man-child,” referred to Obama as “Barack the Magic Negro,” complained that he “disowned his white half” and warned that Obama is of “Arab-African” descent. Nevertheless, Limbaugh says race is not an issue for him.

Update: Newshounds notes that, Limbaugh -- who reportedly earns $50 million a year -– said it’s a “myth” that there’s a health care crisis. “Health care’s got to be priced the same way a hotel room is, or a car is. You want to stay at the Ritz? You pay for it,” Limbaugh said.

Update: Limbaugh also told Greta that Obama “never once refers to, thinks about, talks about American exceptionalism.” In fact, in a speech in Strasbourg in April, Obama said, “I believe in American exceptionalism.”

I was hoping we could get the white junky pedophile angle on the state of race relations in America. Because nobody understands black people like Rush Limbaugh. And he has only a mere 15 hours each and every week on his nationally broadcast radio program to talk, so it's a very good thing that people like Greta Van Susteren and Katie Couric can free up time on their nationally broadcast programs to allow Mr. Limbaugh an additional platform from which to get his views known.
