That's what they're doing by hamstringing the President and the will of the American people, and the American people are showing their disfavor for it.

They better get their collective shit together.

what we the people who elected their sorry asses to do. I'm so pissed off about this. The blatant lies and crap they spew when it comes to NOT giving us what we want is disgusting. They must think we went back to sleep.. hello, we are paying attention. Hello, we are not stupid.

4. I call 'em Blue Dog Repugs
What we need is a viral internet campaign to embarrass them all for the corporate and Insurance company money they have taken, expose the amounts, and force them to resign and be replaced by more progressive dems. They at least need to be forced to recuse themselves from the health care fight and not vote against progress.

9. Because it will absolve them of any responsibility.
The corporate Democrats are in a bad position here. Since the Democrats have majorities in both houses they are expected to do good for the people. But these assholes don't want to do good for the people. It's easier to say "we don't have the votes" and shake their fists in indignation when the Republicans can block. The blue dogs need Republicans in there to cover their phoney baloney asses.

11. Because they're comfortable in their positions...
They have shown they can get elected and re-elected as Democrats in conservative districts. If their obstructionism causes Obama and the rest of the party to fail, so what? They've got secure jobs, and it doesn't matter to them whether they're in the majority or minority party. In fact, they may prefer being in the minority. If Democrats are the majority, they'll be expected to help pass an agenda that might rile up their district's voters and endanger their "Congressman For Life" status; while, if the G.O.P. is in the majority, all they have to do is make enough disapproving noises to keep their own local party voters loyal. It's just as easy for them to come in every day and let the Republicans run the show, then collect their hefty paycheck and go back to their Georgetown townhouse. A comfortable existence.

:grr:

12. That pretty much describes the situation
These types have been around for ages. They are merely variations of the "Senator Snort" caricature of the "Grin and Bear It" comic of the 1960s.
