Taco Bell Chihuahua Dies



She charmed millions without ever saying a word, and managed to make fast food tacos adorable. Gidget, the Chihuahua best known for her Taco Bell ad campaign, died from a stroke on Tuesday night at age 15.

6. Strokes are VERY common in many breeds of dog

I'm not an expert on canine veterinary medicine, and don't know if this is the case with chihuahuas, but when I hear that a dog died of a stroke, it doesn't strike me as odd.

My uncle -- my Mom's brother -- ran a kennel, and bred and trained specialty dogs (attack, sentry, bomb-sniffing, etc.) for the Army. So I grew up around dogs. One particular breed of sentry dog had to be handled tenderly, they were so "brittle".

11. My German Shephard had a stroke 2 yrs ago

and we had to put her down. She was only 7 yo. The vet said it was common, but that her stroke was brought on by a lung tumor putting pressure on other organs.
