Obama doesn't like the current health plan proposals
Edited on Wed Jul-22-09 12:17 PM by stray cat
he hopes a decent bill can be created in committee after the initial voting. At least the speech showed by Maddow last night or the night before stated that.

1. Psst! Mr. President! Why don't you email them a copy of your campaign healthcare plan?
It was pretty darn good!

6. Actually, it's because HillaryCare failed when she did the same.
Many people, including Obama, believe that one of the reasons it failed was because she wrote out the complete plan and gave it to Congress to pass. Obama didn't want to make that mistake, so instead he offered "guidelines" instead and asked Congress to write the bill.

Unfortunately, Congress just tossed out most of the guidelines.

10. Your thoughts are an interesting read. I hope folks will go to the link.
I would have replied and kicked it if I had seen it before.

Your conclusion at the end about most of us figuring the deal was there once he was elected in our minds is different from what Obama was thinking of is one I'd probably agree with. And, that he wanted to leave it up to congress. It's hard to believe since he served in the Senate he wouldn't have realized what he was going to be up against, though. It's possible he thought a plan would emerge that was better than what we have now and was not willing to fight for a strong plan that many of us assumed he would.

Anyway...it's a good read.

7. Maybe he will disavow it tonight if he thinks it isn't going to pass, and let the country know
it's not his bill, because right now that's the belief, that's it's his.

8. If he doesn't like what they pass he can always veto it
and try to get us real reform.

9. No, if he really doesn't like it, he better say so tonight. He owns this even if it's not his bill.

11. Good, Obama knows it's better to come up with a really really great plan
than to rush through this mediocre one that leaves too many unanswered questions and variables.

I'm glad Obama's on his game cause he's getting hit hard from all angles.
