Ed Schultz wants to know why Imus' apology isn't enough
Edited on Mon Apr-09-07 03:31 PM by live love laugh
He wants to know when it became unacceptable to accept an apology in UhMerika. I couldn't turn the dial fast enough. He disgusts me.

1. Yeah, he's just the type who wouldn't get it
fat pasty old white male whose opinion the rest of us have already heard way too much of our whole lives...that type :puke:

3. Ed is wrong on this issue.
Imus should be fired.

4. Because this is about the twentieth time that Imus has "slipped"
with a n***** joke or a 'ho joke.

5. Because Imus' apology is mere "crocodile tears".
It's happened too often and too egregiously to believe that he "really, really" means it this time. Sorry.

Furthermore, if we accept his apology with NO CONSEQUENCES, aren't we just falling into the Ally McBeal "bygones" philosophy? (e.g., I say something mean, your feelings get hurt, you demand an apology, I apologize and we end with 'let's let bygones be bygones'. So why not just skip right to the end?)

6. Carville agrees. "When a friend is in trouble you run to their aid!"
trying to rehab him on CNN right now.

The lynchings didn't do much to aleviate that either.

Dumbass.

10. He offends my tastes in radio too. I actually turned to him by accident
and I deeply regret it. I live in fear that he might actually get credit for me tuning in.

12. Well when you are dealing with unreasonable people who aren't willing
to accept apologies and are curiously out for blood you would be frustrated too.

Much of what has been reported about earlier statements made by Imus have been taken out of context or are completely incorrect.

I think this whole thing stinks.

And, no, I don't like what he said either, I just don't think it warrants all this over done outrage.

15. "unreasonable people"..."curiously out for blood"..."overdone outrage"...

Those are a lot a loaded terms that equate to nothing more than simple name calling. If Imus' statements were taken out of context then please shed some light on how the phrase "nappy headed hos" would be less insulting. What are we missing?

11. I want to know too.
I also want to know what good it will really do to have Imus fired. And I don't want the BS about setting an example. Having Imus fired will create much more anger and resentment. People are out for blood here and it just doesn't make sense.
He has apologized more than once. There comes a time when people can push something a little too far. I think this is more about getting Imus than it is about the remark. And, if it comes to a firing, then I want to see this same type of outrage displayed time and time again when other shock jocks and Coulter types fling insults around.

19. Because Imus often says racist, sexist stuff
The guy is incapable of learning from mistakes. He's been pulling unacceptable attention-getting stunts for decades.

I don't want this kind of hate speech on TV because kids could hear it. The FCC is supposed to regulate this, and it's long past time they get on the ball with Imus and all the other hatemongers on the airwaves.
