"Once I am 'Sarah Palin, Alaskan,' I can really call it like I see it," she said.
Palin said she is eager to begin life as a private citizen.

"Once I am 'Sarah Palin, Alaskan,' I can really call it like I see it," she said.

"I look forward to continuing to work for Alaska and for energy independence and for the contribution that Alaska could and should be making to allow our nation to be more secure and more prosperous," she said.

Palin says Alaska voters have accepted her decision to resign, even as she continues to receive criticism from the national media and even some fellow Republicans who question her decision to leave with 18 months left in her four-year term.

"We don't give a damn how they do it outside," she said, quoting a popular state bumper sticker. "We do it a different way up here. The pioneer spirit runs strong."

1. So, what she's saying is, as a politician, she never told us what she really meant.
...and this is supposed to make people WANT to vote for her, should she ever run for anything again?

4. Can anyone tell me why she always frames everything
is terms of "fighting."

"I'm a fighter" seems to be her mantra, and there are always these "dark forces" closing in on her, forcing her to do things she doesn't want to do, keeping her from telling the truth, bending her to its evil will.

Is she seeing herself as some sort of martyr to government - the office she "fought" so hard to achieve, the VIP slot she "fought" so hard to achieve?

Because - now, I'm clinically sane, so I realize I'm at a disadvantage here - she's making even less sense with these epic pronouncements.................................

The difference is that her enemies list includes "logic", "facts", and "syntax".

29. I think that's it -
fightin' is easier than learning and understanding and negotiating and compromising, and, in general, behaving in an intelligent, informed, adult way.

Obama was right, remember, in that remark he made during the campaign, the one at a private fundraiser that was surreptitiously recorded?

They DO cling to religion and guns.

And Sarah Palin, you're correct, is whoring for them. It fits well with her natural passive-aggressive personality...............

31. Republicans in general need to have an enemy, and an authority figure
to tell them how to feel about/respond to that enemy - it makes the world a lot simpler. She has that worldview, but she probably plays it up as well because she know that it's the right language to manipulate the shallow-thinkers who compose her base...

I don't even know where to start. But I'll start here "But this is what Palin loves best: Reaching out to Alaskans, no matter how remote." :puke: Tell that to Emmonak.

And Alaska voters have not only "accepted" her decision to resign, we are ECSTATIC!

What a clown.

15. We are, and we suffer for it.
Alaska has the highest energy costs of any state in the union.

It's not that Alaska COULDN'T be energy independent because we could, with wind, geothermal, tidal, solar (in the summer) and so on, but she didn't really show much interest in that. Her only focus seemed to be on that pipeline to the tar sands.

with her credibility intact? That's not a pioneering spirit, that's a personality defect. From now on, she'll HAVE to care how they do it outside.

33. That part about "We don't give a damn how they do it Outside"
is an "inside" joke. We get it up here, but she was stupid to bring it up to the national media. I've always hated how she presents Alaskans to the rest of the country, magnifying our weaknesses and minimizing our strengths.

I think that she has had both her feet and the feet of others in her mouth for so long, that she scarcely notices.

I had hoped that when she retired she would shut up. Silly me. Would someone please help her to catch a fish and then insert it firmly into her mouth? Between that and all those feet in there, maybe it will serve to muffle whatever she says.

22. Does this mean she was holding back during the campaign?
Talking about understanding Russia because she could see it was an example of restraint? Mentioning that Putin could rear his head at any minute and enter U.S. airspace was an example of restraint? Saying that we might go to war because of the crisis in Georgia was an example of restraint? Talking about an unknown entity called the Department of Laws is an example of restraint? Having no idea what the Bush Doctrine was and merely looking stupid and saying "in what respect, Charlie?" is an example of restraint?

If this person ever lets the floodgates of her bizarre mind open and lets everything flow out of it unrestrained, calling it like she sees it, it will be a truly amazing spectacle.
