1. Both my wife and I think there's something fishy to her story...
we were talking about the exceptionally fast treatment response that we've had experience with. Recently, our friend was diagnosed with colon cancer on a Friday, and was having surgery on the following Tuesday. My dad was diagnosed with Kidney cancer, and had arthroscopic kidney removal within 2 weeks.

I don't know all of the details of this woman's story, and there certainly are cracks in our system that people can fall into. But holding up a single failure of a system that serves more than 30 million people, as an indication that the system doesn't work, is just garbage.

2. All systems have people who fall through the cracks
no doubt on that one.

Canada, last numbers I saw, was about 5%... which is a little high... but still within norms. (International norms)

The US... between the uninsured and minimally insured and people who get their insurance pulled is hitting close to 50%...

Now that 50% is my approximation, of the 48 million without it, 35% or so, and the rest is made by minimally insured, and things cancelled in the middle of treatment. So I may be off.

But what these guys are doing is looking for the few cases that fall through cracks and making this a federal case, to use a US euphemism... sadly some of the sheeple will not question it because no commercial would lie... and in her case, they probably didn't... they are making an extrapolation from a rare circumstance.

3. Corporations
Corporate Propaganda masquerading as populist anger?

Boy, how cynical does a wealthy Corporate CEO have to be to come up with this BULLSHIT?

All they got is bullshit and it ain't working so good any more!

Americans are learning to recognize a corporate PR scam when they see them!
