Joe Scarborough said he had been to the "house" on C Street...
On the Bill Maher show last night, Maher asked Scarborough if he had ever been to the "church" on C Street where Ensign and Sanford lived. Scarborough said that he had but Maher never pursued it any further? I wanted to know if he lived there while he was a Congressman? And what kind of scam were they running to call it a "church" and be tax exempt? Did they not have to pay any rent? Was it tax exempt also?? There were a lot of questions left unanswered, in my opinion.

2. I think it's a good guess that he lived there
How else would he have become such good friends with Sanford? They were both Congressmen at the same time - Pickering too. There's a lot more to this story....maybe Joe is scared to death his skeletons will come out now too.

3. I think the whole C Street "church" thing was a tax scam...
figured out by some "brilliant" Republicans. I wonder how much they paid in rent? It was like a fraternity house. They covered for each other as they were all looking for a little "strange" on the side. Just my opinion. Obviously, we need to know more about this "arrangement" on C Street..

5. Yeah, there is always money involved somewhere. Sanford
came from a wealthy family. Why would he have to share rent at some big old house on C street? Grown men living like a bunch of frat boys. I hope the hypocrites get exposed soon.

11. Sanford probably lived there because he is a cheap
s.o.b. There was a story someone told where he met a couple of people at a bar/club and offered to buy a coke. He literally bought one coke and brought back three straws. Now that is beyond cheap!

7. Exactly what I was thinking - maybe this is why Joe S. is so
frightened.

6. His woman problem
It makes perfect sense due to his dead female office worker problem and the fact that his first marriage ended due to his philandering. Seems to be a pattern forming here. Anyone who has had anything to do with the place seems to be a conservative know-it-all who demonizes others while they themselves can't keep it in their pants. Or is that just Republicans in general?

12. Maybe Maher didn't know enough about it to follow up
But if that's the case I hope he studies up on it and uses it. He does like to go after religion

15. Yes, they pay rent there, but it is a paltry $600 a month for a very nice dwelling
worth about $1.3 mil. IMO, they are each receiving a gift in the form of cheap rent at this place. I bet they don't have to report it, either.
