One of Buchanan's supposed objections to Sotomayor, is that she isn't smart enough for the SC, that lucky breaks all through her life are responsible for her ascent. After all, everybody knows that anyone who goes to Princeton is given a cum laude. The gophers fought like the devil to get Thomas on the court so one can only assume he's brilliant though his sharp legal mind has yet to make an appearance.

The hysteria of these white bigots is amazing to watch. The country is slipping through their fingers and there's not a damn thing they can do to stop it.

And had not Alberto Gonzales been such an OBVIOUS four star fuckup, he might have gotten a seat on the bench--imagine the horror with that pick!

Remember Harriet Miers? They threw her up there precisely because she WAS incompetent...and when, as she had to, she withdrew because of her incompetence, (awwwww, see, even a GOOD 'little woman' sometimes ain't ready for prime time) they were able to slide the manly (pfffft!) Alito up onto the bench, with his upholstery-wearing wife shedding tears at his side--just like it's "s'posta" be.

The good old boys just aren't feeling the "Girl Power" I think. That's their problem, and that's a big chunk of all this agita. One day, USA will join the 21st Century in this regard, but we aren't quite there yet.

I was referencing how Pat was lamenting that with all the legal minds they could've chosen from they went with a woman that wasn't very smart and only got her summa cum laude because Princeton gives them to everyone. To your point he has mentioned, over and over, that the 4 finalists Obama had were all women and sadly Obama picked the least qualified of all of them. And on top of that she's a bully, a bad tempered female.

I am so hoping Obama keeps that list and uses it for the next go round.

3. I think there is more. Justice Sotomayor (pardon the presumption) is

what a SCOTUS justice whould be: reserved, thoughtful, exceptionally well-versed in legal protocol--she's everything both Bush's chjoices were not. Plus, she's no idealogue.

The fact that she is Latina just digs the burr even deeper into their behinds, but the real posser for them is that she is an exceptionally quality pick.

I think Sotomayor is quite brilliant in a really fun way. She's handling these ungentlemanly Southern senators

Is absolute proof of his unsuitability. The only time he seems to speak up is when there is a case having to do with African Americans and then you can pretty much count on his ruling against them
