WH regarding Shiite anti US rally: "I'm not sure that we've seen that, those numbers materialize"

http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/COL954309.htm

<snip>

Gordon Johndroe, spokesman for the White House National Security Council, told reporters travelling with President George W. Bush to Arizona from Texas:

"I note today that Sadr called for massive protests. I'm not sure that we've seen that, those numbers materialize and the numbers that he was seeking...

"But Iraq, four years on, is now a place where people can freely gather and express their opinions, and that was something they could not do under Saddam. And while we have much more progress ahead of us -- the United States, the coalition and Iraqis have much more to do -- this is a country that has come a long way from the tyranny of Saddam Hussein," he said.

Another post with a US Admirals take on the rally:

3. They get it all right. They just refuse to go along with what the
Iraqi people want. In fact, these clowns are so delusional they think they were 'invited' to bomb and kill all those people. At least, that's what they say.

2. Just a few hundred, a focus group, really.....
using the counting methods employed by those who count anti-war protesters in our country, that is. Hundreds of thousands show up and it somehow becomes, "a few thousand". I'd like to see their checkbooks. :eyes:

4. When pressed hundreds of thousands can technically be seen as "thousands."

The GOPigs lie with plain English.

5. Bush uses "fuzzy math" again
after going through several hundred assistants' fingers and toes, Bush makes an announcement ...

"A few people disagree with me ..."
