World-renowned economist Sarah Palin invokes GOD in WP critique of Obama
Palin Showing Her 'Serious Side' With Obama Critique
Prominent Republicans have criticized Sarah Palin for failing to join the national debate
By Kenneth T. Walsh

Outgoing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's op-ed in the Washington Post Tuesday may have offered a preview of the next stage of her long-range political strategy. And so far, the reaction from members of the Republican establishment has been positive.

Palin, who was the GOP vice presidential nominee last year and remains the subject of intense fascination as a possible presidential candidate in 2012, criticized President Obama for proposing a "cap and trade" system for limiting carbon emissions. Palin wrote that the Obama plan is "an enormous threat to our economy. It would undermine our recovery over the short term and would inflict permanent damage." In addition to boosting energy costs, Palin argued that the plan would increase unemployment in the energy industry. She said the answer is to "responsibly tap the resources that God created right underfoot on American soil" while at the same time protecting the environment.

Prominent Republicans in Washington have criticized Palin for failing to join the national debate on major issues since last year's campaign, but her essay suggested that she will now become much more vocal.

2. Sarah Palin reminds me of the uber-religosity of Clare Booth Luce.
Luce was ambassador to Italy during the Eisenhower Administration. She was a recent convert to catholicism and had an audience with the Pope. Using her time "wisely", Luce took it upon herself to tell the Pope how to reorganize his life and the Church. Having enough, the Pope gently reminded Luce that he too was a Catholic.

3. So, the "energy expert" believes the earth is 6,000 years old and God "put" oil in the ground
for us to tap?

And early man rode dinosaurs with saddles made of caribou leather.

It just sounds all so, oooh, countercultural and stuff! Like she's a rebel or a renegade, you know? {Wink!} So very serious, is our Mrs. Palin. As long as the media don't filter her, or ask any of those "gotcha" questions like naming a newspaper or something. Such as. And isn't it great the way she talks about a policy inflicting "permanent damage," but handing our wilderness over to the extractive industries doesn't do anything any harm whatsoever, let alone anything permanent. Those mountains in West Virginia will just grow back, right?

It's not so mind-boggling that a vaporbrain like Sarah Palin would pen such drivel; why did the Washington Post feel compelled to print it?

5. Just following in the footsteps of that holy oil grifter Billy Graham...
"the development and use of God-given natural resources by men who have built a great new empire"
That statement was made by Graham in the 50s when he was shilling for his Texas oil buddies
