1. Done!
I graduated from Rutgers in 1975, and this pisses me off in so many different ways. Imus has always been a jerk, but now it's time to pull him off the air and send him to a padded cell.

7. Imus being fired
I just learned that Imus has been fired from MSNBC for the Racist remarks he has made about the Rutgers womens basketball team. Now this is just BULLSHIT!! Yes, what he said was horrible, but I think firing him is again, BULLSHIT. And why do the black activists have to ALWAYS be up in arms about issues like this? I mean nappy headed could have been about anyone, hell I am white and if my hair grows out too long, it is nappy, so should I throw a hissy fit? I think there are people who just sit around for lack of nothing else to do and wait to be shocked or appalled by something. As I said before it is BULLSHIT!! And Imus was on the right path to redeeming himself, But this action by MSNBC is too far. Now let's hear your rediculous response!!!!!!!!!

6. This how I reworded the email.
The statements made about the Rutgers players by Don Imus and Bernard McGuirk after the NCAA championship game are simply intolerable in this day and age. Sadly this is hardly the first time Mr. Imus and his show have exhibited such blatant racism on the public airwaves.

Don Imas has referred to Venus and Serena Williams as "animals," called national journalist Gwen Ifill "the cleaning lady" and national journalist Bob Herbert a "quota hire."

He has compared the appearance of certain black NBA players to "apes." He has referred to residents of Harlem as "moolingans." And he has most certainly used the epithet "ho" in the past when labeling the black wife of former Secretary of Defense William Cohen a "big-haired ho."

My outrage at their statements are exceeded only by my utter dismay that nothing has been done beyond a weak "apology" and a promise to watch the show more closely. If that tactic were effective, this most recent slur would not have a part of the broadcast.

The Rutgers team deserves respect, not hateful and insulting remarks. Racism and sexism have no place on our public airwaves.

I urge you to take immediate action to remove both Don Imus and Bernard McGuirk from roles that allow them to perpetuate hatred and bigotry on air. Our world has more than enough dehumanizing discourse without facilitating their contributions.
