Robert Guttman's answer for torture and CIA corruption: "Forget"
Forget the Bush Administration. Move forward with this impressive domestic agenda and get it implemented into law.

Forget a special prosecutor to look into Bush interrogation practices. Don't look like a third world nation and attempt to prosecute the previous administration.

Forget tearing apart the Central Intelligence Agency. The CIA is not our enemy. The enemy is Al Qaeda, the Taliban and other terrorists who wish to do us harm.

The Democrats have a once in a lifetime chance to pass a new domestic agenda to rival FDR and to a lesser extent LBJ. Getting sidetracked into a special prosecutor to look backwards is not the way to do this.

2. And make sure that SP can target ANYONE involved in torture
Whether they poured the water, administered the electric shock, or signed the legal opinion - it doesn't matter. They all broke the law, and none of them should be treated as though they're above the law.

4. Yeah, Bob, just like the repukes forgot all about Clinton
and Lewinsky, Travelgate, etc. Just like they forgot about their special prosecutor Ken Starr and all the money that was spent on the investigation. Yeah, sure, they moved forward. Look what happened when the Dems let Iran-Contra go. That just gave the repukes the courage to forge ahead with more illegal misdeeds because they felt they could get away with everything. No more looking ahead and not prosecuting criminal administrations. We need to also look back and see what bush, cheney, gonzalas, addinton, et al have been up to the past 8 years. It's time we tell them ENOUGH!!!!

6. Forget you, Guttman.
We're in the mess we're in today because our elected leaders were willing to forgive and forget previous leaders. Sounds like a nice club, were it not for all the wars, vanished loot and limitless treason getting forgiven and the perpetrators unpunished.

7. If we could actually get REAL change, I would be willing to go along with that.
However, since I haven't seen any yet, I believe that it might not be possible until we look ourselves in the mirror and take a full account.

8. Real change is impossible without real accountability
Too many in the Beltway want to sweep the Bush administration under the rug and allow its evil to fester unseen. Just like what happened after Nixon resigned - Cheney and Rumsfeld were never rooted out.
