7. Seriously. And I'd hate to think that Bobby Kennedy, one of our greats...
would be criticized for using a "y" at the end of his name.

6. It's not just Tommy, that I can take.
But Scooter, Pootey, Condi, Rummy, all these little diminutives that make fascists sound so innocuous :)

9. It may be his real name
When I was in high school, there was a guy who went by the name of Tom (Last Name). It wasn't until the high school graduation ceremony that we learned that his real legal name was Tommy Bill (Last Name).

12. No prob with that
Edited on Sun Apr-08-07 10:33 PM by MN ChimpH8R
Jimmy Johnson (ex Cowboys coach)
Billy Donovan (Fla b-ball coach)
Jimmy Carter (nuff said)
Tommy Hilfiger
Johnnie Walker (of whiskey fame)
Tubby Smith (new Gophers b-ball coach)
Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top)
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Jimmy Page (Led Zep)
Eddie Van Halen
Freddie Hubbard (jazz trumpeter)
Gerry Mulligan (jazz sax player)
Johnny Cash (nuff said)
Willie Nelson (ditto)
Johnny Carson (ditto)

A group ranging from pretty OK to tres cool, AFAIK.

I do think that I read somewhere that RFK preferred being called Bob rather than Bobby.

I agree with the poster who said that it's the uber-prep nicknames that induce :puke: No adult human should be called "Biff" or "Trip" or "M/Buffy" in the real world. Eeewww.

14. What is it with Bush and his need to physically paw and rub everyone?
It's like he has to put his brand on people or mark everyone around him as part of his territory by leaving his scent on them. I'm surprised that he doesn't whip it out and pee on them like a wolf would mark his territory.
