AK State Senator: Palin may have to remain in office
I'm looking for text or at least a link, but I just saw Shanyn Moore post on Facebook that a state senator went on her show and said that Palin may have to remain in office to avoid a state constitutional crisis.

1. Not sure what's going on in the strange logistical world of Sarah Palin
but I doubt if a governor who wants to make an exit is required to stay.

I just think it's politically questionable for her to quit.

4. I think the GOP is dying. They must come into the age we live in
I do not think Palin can do it. I do not want a country of one party rule. I hate to have any more of these people who rule like Bush and Co. around for long but I also do not want a one party govt. I just do not think Palin can re-build the GOP. Maybe we will end up with lots of smaller parties that will sort of over look what is going on.

5. I don't think you want the type of GOP that Palin would create even if she could
You're talking bush on steroids. As asinine as they act now, freedom and civil liberties would be swept away in a tide of fake fundamentalist fanaticism.

8. I think the 'crisis' may be about the lieutenant governor position
I could be wrong, but I think they're referring to a fight over who the new lieutenant governor would be. Palin said who she would put in charge as the new lieutenant governor once her current one is governor. The problem is the person she wants as the new lieutenant governor isn't the person who's next in line to take that job according to the Alaska constitution, so the state legislature would have to approve of them.

9. Here's to hoping the state constitution trumps Sarah's preference.

10. How can she dictate who the Lt. Gov. will be after she leaves?
Is she trying to "rule from the grave" or is that the way it's done? I hope it gets really messy though. I"m sorry for Alaskans who have to go through this but I'm going to enjoy watching the show.

11. Um, once she's not governor, how can she "put" anyone in office?

12. No doubt that Sarah won't let a little thing like the constitution stand in her way
of doing what is right for HER.
