Lawrence O'Donnell

I think he is the best we have on the Democratic side of punditry.

I think he should have his own show on a cable network... or at least should be an everyday regular on Morning Joe.

The guy has a succinct way of putting complex arguments into 1-minute soundbytes.

Mr. O'Donnell has a gift. And the Democratic Party specifically, and the left in general, is not using using this man's talents nearly enough.

He's better than Rachel. Better than Keith even.

If Gibbs ever hangs 'em up, O'Donnell would be the PERFECT press secretary for Obama. Nobody cuts through Republican bullshit like Lawrence.

8. I'd like him as a regular on Morning Joe.
Edited on Fri Jul-10-09 09:42 AM by optimal-tomato
If he had his own show, say 10pm EST, then any republican would just avoid it like they do Rachel Maddow. Plus, he would be too busy working on his own show to appear elsewhere.

On Morning Joe, he can confront every scrap of bullshit that Scarborough utters. Also, Morning Joe frequently has Congressmen and Senators, as they are on their way to work and it's considered to be safe territory.

I also agree with everything that the OP says with respect to his skill. He has a strong grasp of history, and is a very capable debater. Lawrence O'Donnell never forgets. Lawrence O'Donnell never forgives. No one is safe.

24. I wanted to like her...and gave her plenty of time. But, alas,
your analysis is spot on. You'll notice Mika NEVER, and I mean, NEVER, uses facts or specifics. She has no references for past legislation. She can't reference people or events. Her babble consists of "well, I don't know. I just wonder where that money is. We may never know. It's going to be intereting. It will be interesting to find out. Well, REAL Americans need to have their say. Hmm. I guess we'll see. Oh, I just love him. Oh, I just love her."

That's it. A whole lot of transitional talking. But no real content. No wonder she likes Palin. Neither have anything substantive to say.

Is Scarborough supposed to be MSNBC's conservative balance? He and batgirl fit much better at Fox with all the other ignorant windbags.

25. Joe and Mika are about 2% points higher in I.Q. than
the Fox and Friends folks. And I say this having watched Kilmeade (on YouTube) refer to people in America, unlike the Swedes, as having inter-species relationships. That's why we're not "pure."

13. Why Would Larry Take A Pay Cut?
I'll bet he makes nice coin in Hollywood and becoming a talking head would be a step down for him. I enjoy watching him go after rushpublicans and wouldn't mind if he had his own show.

I said to my husband just last night that he should have his own show. I'd love to see him take over for Tweety -- he's so much better, and lets his guests actually talk.

20. I love him, but I also really like David Schuster.
O'Donnell, Schuster, Olbermann, and Schultz do not suffer
fools gladly. With David Schuster, I just love when he starts
to laugh at the absurd things some Repubs say. And O'Donnell
is really quick at shutting down Repub talking nonsense. I
love these guys. The all provide important aspects to our way
of thinking. So hats off to all of them!

22. I was underwhelmed when he filled in for Franken on AA.
He seemed out of his element and didn't have much to say.

But lately, his TV appearances have been on fire. I don't know what's changed with him in the last three years, but I like it.
