2. Snow is beautiful in JANUARY. It's just annoying in APRIL!!!!
6 inches out on my deck this morning, thanks to Lake Michigan lake effect snow patterns. Okay, Mother Nature, time to get your act together! :-)

5. Lake effect
I just read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_effect to see what this term refers to. Could you expand on what it's like - I have only lived in snow country for 2 years and am wondering what the impact of "lake effect" might be. thanks.

7. In a nutshell, it's what happens when you live
downwind of one of the Great Lakes and some really cold weather blows across the warmer waters (relatively) of the lake. The moisture from the lake gets pulled from the lake, turns into snow after meeting cold air and gets deposited on the land where it can be either large fluffy flakes or biting stinging icy pellets and occasionally it can cause "white-out" conditions where visibility is cut to near zero. The temps and atmospheric conditions need to be within certain parameters for this condition to exist but it happens quite frequently near the big lakes. Hope that helps.

I just finished snow blowing about 4-8 inches of heavy wet snow off our driveway. It's still snowing. But on the lighter side, I pounded our Christmas Santa decoration in the ground in front of our house. :D
edit to say in Cleveland.
