Vote to keep Rosie on the View. The anti-Rosie site has about 3 times as many votes as the pro-Rosie site does. Maybe you think it's a fluff morning show, but it's the highest rated show in it's time slot. It's viewers are the VERY CRUCIAL 30 TO 54 Y.O. FEMALE DEMOGRAPHIC!! Do not underestimate the importance of having someone who is asking important questions about the war and 9-11 on this venue. Click on the link and vote to keep Rosie! The sites say they are not affiliated with the show, and that may be true, but I don't want Rosie to get fired because the dumbshits at ABC think that more people like that blonde neocon nitwit Elizabeth Hasselback. Watch this youtube and you'll see what I mean: http://youtube.com/watch?v=MiIyI6ugmUM

VOTE!! http://www.keeprosie.com/

7. I already voted
I voted to keep Rosie but Rosie isn't in any danger of losing her job. The more votes, either way, indicate people are watching the show. You know what they say about publicity...any, even bad, is better than none. She's a Hot Topic right now. They aren't going to can her. The View is probably getting it's best ratings ever.

Conservative talk show host Bill O'Reilly has blasted Rosie O'Donnell for comments she made on "The View" about British captives in Iran.

Whose side are you on?

Rosie's. She should be able to express an opinion that she feels is underrepresented in the media.

Bill O'Reilly's. Rosie has really gone too far this time.

10. 30,000 votes people. To suppress Freedom of Speech.
http://www.stoprosie.com/

OUR MISSION is to influence current and prospective viewers of The View to not watch the program until the situation of Rosie O'Donnell and her anti-American falsities is rectified by Disney-ABC.

OUR REASON for calling this boycott is to raise awareness of the anti-American rhetoric being displayed in the mainstream media today. We aim to show Disney-ABC (and their sponsors) that we, as American citizens, will no longer enable an anti-American individual to occupy our network television airtime.

OUR METHOD comes in the form of an online petition. We ask for your support in signing this petition, proving to Disney-ABC that if the problem is not addressed, they will lose a significant portion of their audience.

We would like to make it very clear that we support Miss O’Donnell’s right to say whatever she deems appropriate. This is a free country and she has the right of free speech. We are not demanding that government or Disney-ABC censor anything she, or anyone else, says. Instead, we wish to let our voices be heard by manipulating the market. She has the right to speak her mind; we have the right to not watch her program. If The View remains a strong show ratings-wise, we believe there is nothing wrong with Disney-ABC leaving Rosie on the air. Therefore, the only way we can succeed is by proving to Disney-ABC that she is not profitable anymore.
We are not placing the blame for this situation on Disney-ABC, The View, the sponsors of The View, or even Rosie O'Donnell. We are placing the blame on the audience of The View for enabling Disney-ABC to leave Rosie on the air.
It has come to our attention that there have been several imitation websites and online petitions posted in Rosie O'Donnell's defense. We urge the sensible people that signed this document to not attack those websites and to not sign false names to their petitions. We have nothing to gain by attacking those that don't support our position.
29,956 signatures in total (displaying the latest 1,000 - most recent at the bottom)

13. This seems pretty silly to me...
The producers don't give a rats ass about petitions pro or con. They care about numbers and in the number of people watching the show. Most of us are working when it is on, not that I would not watch it anyway.

Rosie also needs to play it smart here and not give them a reason to let her go. There have been rumors about huge salary demands. Those are supportable only if the shows ratings go up. If they don't, those demands become the reason to let her go.

Feel free to flail away at this, but remember, its not going to do anything either way. Its all about the numbers and the green eye shade people are running things

14. Right, if Rosie was helping them make money hand over fist,
and the show's ratings were growing because of her, they would care less about what she says. It's their show and they are free to do what they like. If it was a very conservative voice that was being threatened with being silenced would there be such a call to arms here about it? No, it probably would be considered to be justified. On my list of things to get wound up about, Rosie does not even appear on the radar.

because they indicate to producers that people are watching the show. The other side is probably threatening to boycott The View unless Rosie is kicked off, so it is important that we speak up.

As for rumors of huge salary demands: do you have any proof of that whatsoever? And should we make decisions based on rumors?

19. My take on Rosie's outspokenness.
I believe that Rosie has been independently planning on leaving The View and with that knowledge, she feels it's a great opportunity to say whatever she believes. It's like when you give two weeks notice and you essentially begin to enjoy your job as you don't worry about repercussions such as being fired.

I'd like Rosie to stay where she is, but I honestly get the feeling she's moving on to another project.

23. I can't stand Rosie, and you want me to vote to keep her on a mindless TV show?
Edited on Sun Apr-08-07 09:35 AM by KzooDem
I have never liked Rosie. I think she's obnoxious and overbearing, and I've never thought she was very funny. But....I'll go vote for her on this silly vote to keep Rosie link.

Why? Because I think this recent "villify Rosie" sentiment is really more about villifying her because she's gay and out and isn't going to pretend she's something she isn't to placate the mindless masses. I suspect this over-reaction to her recent comments are just a cheap, easy cover to pursue and attack Rosie's sexual orientation and her openess about it. And that just pisses me off.

Like I said, I may not care for Rosie, but I respect her, so now I'm off to cast my vote.

 And Rosie jumped on the bush bandwagon after 9/11 much like celebs and others did because they were :scared: even though they hadn't supported bush up to that point. :puke: I didn't back him after 9/11 just like I didn't him back before 9/11. I am not that naive. I thought bu$hco had something to do with 9/11 from day one, so I have more credibility than someone who was hiding behind george and now thinks 9/11 is a conspiracy, which I believe it was. So no, I don't care if
Rosie stays on the View, which I don't watch, or not.

Imus is getting gored for the same thing; that's part of being on somebody else's television channel, if you say something stupid or piss off enough people you're out on your ass. Imus is a racist asshole and Rosie's a slush-brained imbecile -- I don't feel the need to have either of them on the air.

Besides, the View is incredibly stupid and inconsequential; who really give's a half-a-rat's ass if Rosie's there or not? What kind of wetbrain watches that shit anyway?

"I agree, we should do more research" ad nauseum. I have yet to see any facts presented, I just see opinions being touted and pointless arguing. Granted, I never watch the show.

That said, even if O'Donnell isn't the sharpest tool, i'd be willing to support anyone who is willing to question the government that is in power at this time (or at any point in the future, for that matter.)
