The most disturbing thing about this coverage of MJs memorial
service is that the President of the United States is traveling overseas and I don't have a clue where he is at this moment.

3. Or the killings in China
the North Korea problem.
the Honduras situation..
the upcoming G-8 meetings...

insert other news items you aren't hearing about now here <......>

the Jackson coverage should have been 2 days.. the day he died and the day they planted him. Anything else belongs on "Entertainment Tonight" or something similar.

7. Too many people are under the illusion that cable tv news covers actual "news".

They don't, and really haven't in years. Sure, they'll throw in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the economy in at times. But they are there to entertain and to earn a profit.

PBS and BBC are there to serve, and where you should get TV news.

Sorry, I am not disturbed by the coverage. It was 100% predictable.

11. He'll still be president next week. They only bury Michael once.
The news is just masturbation anyway. We act like if they report the problems in Korea someone here will do something about it. It's just an Orwellian stroking to make us feel involved in something we can't affect, anyway.

15. Need has nothing to do with what the media covers.
They cover what people want, or what they think will be most profitable, anyway. That's nothing new.

14. The news will give President Obama 30 seconds in between
Jackson coverage. That's what they did this morning, anyhow. The CBS Morning News, however, did not mention Al Franken.
