Ghouliani's offensive impersonation of Italian mobsters ruffling feathers
"It's part and parcel of someone who really, in the final analysis, debases his own culture,” DiFrisco said.

CHICAGO Some members of the Italian American community are accusing presidential candidate and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani of crossing the line from funny to offensive.

As CBS 2’s Mike Parker reports, Giuliani’s impersonations of mobsters are generating some genuine anger.

For the most part, Giuliani plays it straight on the campaign trail, but at private fundraisers lately he's been doing his impression of Marlon Brando playing the character of Don Corleone in “The Godfather” series.

And, Giuliani's been making jokes about the mob. The New York newspaper "Newsday" says Giuliani, at a California appearance, used his Brando voice and said "Thank youse very much for invitin' me here today to this meeting of the families from different parts of California."

Maybe he really will wake up next to a horse's head if he keeps it up.

2. have you turned your shop to Rudy yet? I don't think I've seen anything.
did you know his father went to Sing Sing?

and that, when questioned by the FBI during his confirmation process as US Attorney, 'forgot' to answer the standard question about ANY family members' felony convictions, at least regarding dear old dad?

He's in this one, at the bottom:

I wanted to do something with that image on its own, but it is too small. I need a larger, more high res photo to do it proper.

3. His political instincts ain't working so good anymore.
I think he had a bit of teflon as Mayor in NYC. But it appears to have disappeared.

One dumb thing after another. Pretty soon he's going to start blaming his staff for this stuff and shake up his campaign.

5. I really hope you're right, because the media, so far, are carrying
the water for him like they did for dumbo in 99 and 2000.

they LOVE the hero of 911, regardless of the facts

they've already invested in their narrative, and they are LOATHE to change it

all one has to do is watch how fiercely they protect the idiot son, even today, despite the blather of the wingnuts who think the media are actually doing their job, and reporting the news for a change

6. I'm thinking KKKarl must be getting the media to dump on Rude-y and MuckCain
This has to be the WH talking points at work. The media never harps on Republic's foibles in any depth for very long. If KKKarl and Ch*ney didn't want this in the news, it wouldn't be in the news.

7. I see that as a good thing
He pisses off more and more voting groups as he goes along. This is good. And if he pisses off the mob, that is even better. They aren't known for being particularly polite in showing their displeasure, after all.

11. I hate the guy but this is dumb.
He's doing an impersonation of a person who was a gangster, not of Italians in general.

12. The Italian American Human Relations Foundation doesn't agree
but to each their own interpretation.
