5. Umm ... I'm kind of in favor of solving murders.
Maybe living in San Francisco during Zodiac's time, and having gone through the D. C. sniper episode almost literally in my own back yard a few years ago, maybe my perception is a little skewed.

8. No, I don't think that at all
I think the media is obsessed with dead white women and celebrities but far to many other murders go unsolved.

when it's your loved one whose been dead wanting to know why is natural.

10. If someone is found dead, best thing to do is have a quick
funeral and just move on. Best thing all around for all involved.

15. So you're saying cops shouldn't try to solve murders?
or coroners shouldn't try to find out the cause of death? Or that we shouldn't perform autopsies?

I'm really confused by your post and whether it's sarcastic or not.

17. If you're confused by that then you probably shouldn't
be functioning in a print/reading environment at all.

19. I function fine in a "print reading environment"

Thank you very much.

But considering the increasingly idiotic things I read on this site (like the original thread's question), I question what people are even getting at anymore.

On edit: That said, I probably took a few too many things out of the comment that weren't there. Basically what I wanted to know is what the poster meant by having a quick funeral and moving on. I think it's better to determine a cause of death or at least as close to a possible conclusive cause of death.

20. Excuse the snark.
I'm sure the poster agrees with you entirely -- the sarcasm was pretty obvious.

11. Obsessed with finding out
who stole their gnome law ornament or pilfered a candy bar, maybe. How someone was killed? I don't think so.

12. Only with celebrities for the sake of curiosity.
I have no problem with solving murders (who would have?) and none with autopsies done to advance medical knowledge or for education or research into forensics. I do think it's silly to autopsy somebody just because they were on TV and People magazine wants to do a post mortem special issue.

21. Ask that question of someone who's lost a loved one to murder.
A childhood friend of mine, Mike Valetta, was killed by La eMe. His friends pursued every avenue and advised the L.A. County Sheriff's Department about everyone he knew or had contact with.

Bitch is now doing 25 to Life.

We were obsessed. We got justice. God forbid she ever gets out...
