Did Madoff work alone?
He stole billions of dollars, but did he do it without anyone else's help?

I know his accountant friend assisted, but where were the regulators? Who else looked away when Madoff was pulling all his crap?

Was Madoff able to do all that he did to steal all that money without anyone knowing something odd was going on?

1. yep
There had to be others involved. If Madoff was truly sorry, he would tell authorities everything.

7. How the Mob works
You take the fall and STFU. If you open your mouth, your wife gets a freak accident with a house fire. If you press the point, your kids get a freak accident with a woodchipper.

3. The SEC has allot of explanation to do for starters.

There's no doubt in my mind that they knew what the game was at least from 2001 on- either that or they are indeed "overworked" in a style that would clearly indicate that they are a phony agency.

Micheal S. Bienes comes to mind too. He clearly lied to frontline, in my opinion. But I think he clearly has it coming for him.

Anyways, I guess your OP points to the unknown unknwons, not the obvious cases. I'd be interested in them too.
