Ignorance and Greed are powerful allies

This morning I read Paul Krugman’s column about the earth trators, http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/29/opinion/29krugman.html?hpw

There seems to be no limit to the ignorance and greed that can be crammed into our houses of Congress. That we pay these people to ruin our planet and make our lives miserable seems incomprehensible.

My little proposal is a database. It should contain the names of those senators and representatives who vote against our planet. It should also contain quotes from their ignorant and greed driven speeches about global warming.

Then each member of Congress should be assured that this database and the votes they make regarding the environment along with texts of what they said will be sent to their families in the future. That way, when their grandchildren are gasping for a breath of clean air and paying through the nose for a chance to look at real trees and drinking $20 a gallon water, they will know that granny or granpa was one of the idiots or greedy bastards that gave them the world they will have to try to live in. I think that the grandchildren of Representative Paul Broun of Georgia need to know just what kind of ass he was.

Ignorance and greed are powerful allies who live in the U.S. Congress.

1. We live in a time of corrupt and greedy leadership. The concept of public service
is not known.

That will change under Obama.
It will happen.

And don't give me this political capital bullshit.

3. Health care reform will occur in stages, brick by brick.
Obama is up against a very powerful, dangerous
and corrupt congress and corporate structure.
He proceeds with intelligence and caution.

Health care reform will happen.
There is no doubt whatsoever, but it will happen
in a way that will stand and not be easily eradicated
by corrupt and greedy leaders down the road.

5. But we need a slab foundation.
Yes, we are up against powerful, dangerous foes. I am glad for your resounding optimism about health care. I don't share that optimism. We will get a watery, corporate-driven brick that will lay in the dust and mud until it crumbles. Then the powerful, dangerous, and corrupt powers will say: "See, Obama's health plan doesn't work".

That is what you get if you keep looking down the road, expecting for the path to become easier. It doesn't. They don't let up. Now. When our guy is popular. Now. When he can still muster public opinion. Now is the time for confront and do battle. Any health care reform that doesn't truly change things for the better, quickly and noticeably, will be labeled Obama's plan. The bad guys will use the very weaknesses they demanded to tell the public how bad government health care is.

The public will buy it. If we don't lay a better foundation than a crumbly brick, we won't get health reform and we will lose our president. That's the way Washington works.

6. There will be health care reform. There is no doubt what so ever.
It will happen in stages. But it will happen.

PC was also accused of optimism almost a year ago when it
predicted an Obama win with a mandate. And an Obama who would remain safe.

PC was correct then, and is correct now.

You will see. Keep fighting the good fight.
Your hard work will pay off.

7. There will be health reform. It will suck.
It will happen once. Obama will be blamed for a mess the republicans and corporatists create.

It will be 16 years before we get another chance.

Positive thinking isn't a good strategy for battling evil.

8. You are not correct, and thinking in the 20th century style.
The times have changed.

There will be reform, but it will happen in stages.
Obama will prevail. Evil will be overcome.

PC does not engage in positive thinking, but sees the reality of what will happen.

Almost a year ago PC was called names when they announced that Obama would win the election with a mandate. And that he would remain unharmed.

PC was correct then and is correct now.

Do not be discouraged, do not stop fighting the good fight. You ideas will prevail.

The PC team is the same as everyone else.
There is nothing special about this team at all.

We can all predict the future simply by connecting to Jung's collective unconscious.
