Last night, I'm driving home listening to The Big Talker here in the City of Brotherly Love and this moran DJ Suzanne LaFrankie who was pontificating that the NJ Supreme Court is inappropriately considering whether to strike down 10000 DUI convictions because the technology is in question. The device, the experts say, is more accurate than the usual Breathalyzer test. So of course, she goes thru the whole RW shebang of liberal activist judges making law and letting potental killers out of jail, etc. you all know the drill. On and on and on about how the justice system is a 'cracked egg' as though the RWers could fix it all up in a New York minute if you know what I mean.

Then a guy calls and rather matter-of-factly informs her that the substance of the case, now get this, is that FOR ECONOMIC REASONS THE SPECIMEN HEATERS WERE REMOVED FROM THE UNITS, thus rendering the units potentially grossly inaccurate - that the samples need to be heated to a certain standard level for proper testing. These units were removed because when they break they are expensive to repair or replace.

Well, old Suzanne was sputterring a little bit..."I'll have to look into that..." and nonsense like that. Real fast backtracking. She almost completely forgot what her thesis for the night was supposed to be.

I almost called to tell her that often times, things are not what they seem...that there's more to this stuff than the black and white of the neo-fascist movement. But why bother...I wouldn't have made it past the producers I'm sure. They cut you off in an instant if they think you're not a dittohead.

what I think works as well is when the caller leads him on for a while by spouting the talking points and then segues into the absurdist stuff...the best there was the guy eating the sacred birds.

Sounds to me like this Judge is doing a good job of holding standards up. If people were wrongly convicted on tainted evidence, or plead guilty under duress from tainted evidence...They damn sure be freed, and recompensed for their fines and times as well.
